Patina has wonderful items and cute Knick knacks. However, sadly I have to say the Woodbury Patina location had terrible customer service when I went there for my first time today. Iâm usually not one to do reviews or feel this offended enough to say anything, but I honestly felt very unwelcomed upon entering this establishment. I hate to question it, but perhaps it was because I was a person of color. When I entered, I received no welcome, yet everyone else, who were all White, were greeted kindly. I wasnât asked if I needed help or assistance, which I get. However, the most frustrating interaction was when a custumer who was White next to me was asked by an employee if she wanted her to take some items off her hands and hold it for her at the counter; yet my hands were full and the employee completely ignored me. The customer next to me declined, and as I was about to ask, the employee walked away. When I was ready for payment, the two employees stood chit chatting at the register but completely ignored me. One of the employees could clearly see me and made eye contact with me, but made no comment for the employee she was chatting with to ring me up. Finally she turned around and apologized for not noticing me, but thatâs kind of the problem, I felt completely invisible to all the employees. No one noticed or acknowledged me. I tried to return it today but they said 1. they no longer carry the book and 2. the gift receipt was dated in early Dec 2019 and their Christmas return policy expired on 1/15/20. This has never happened to me with any store. How is it the customer's fault if they no longer carry the book or if the deadline for "christmas" purchases passed, when this was purchased back in December with an intent to gift it to me for my birthday in January? I believe I even talked with the manager. I don't normally shop at this store because it's SO expensive. All the more reason, I was so excited to exchange something I couldn't use to get something I could use. What a disappointment!!! Poor...
