Caribou Coffee — Restaurant in Woodbury

I visited to pick up a large order—10 gallons of coffee—for an event. When I noticed that one of the two insulated jugs appeared to be leaking, I asked the staff member about it. She inspected it and said it was likely just steam since the coffee was freshly brewed. The jug didn’t seem too heavy, so I let her know I didn’t need help and would make a few trips.

However, once I stepped outside, I felt my leg getting warm. I set the jug down and realized it had leaked hot coffee all over my pants. I immediately returned to the store and asked the employee to take a look. She came outside, confirmed that the jug had been overfilled, and ended up pouring some out to prevent further leakage.

Thankfully, I was wearing thick sweatpants—otherwise, I might have been burned. The situation could have been worse, but it definitely could have been avoided with a bit more attention...

I have given this Caribou location multiple chances, but the service is consistently slow and lacking urgency. Even when it’s not busy, the waits are long and the experience is inconsistent. Staff are generally not friendly, with the exception of Trasie, who is always so pleasant and radiates positivity.

On my last visit, I waited 15 minutes for a drink (there was only one other person waiting). No one checked in with me to ask what I was waiting for. When I finally approached the counter to kindly ask, the employee did not say a word - just walked over to the barista to remind her to make the drink. The barista also did not say a single word to me - no apology, no “we’ll get right on it.”

Never had issues before but the last time I was in this location a couple weeks ago, I ordered a caramel cooler and it had chunks of plastic in it, i nearly broke a tooth. I thought it was ice at first but found out it didn't melt. I called and the girl said "oh yeah we had something break but we thought we got all the chunks out of the mix but sorry apparently we did not, we can give you a new drink if you can come back or a free next visit". Pretty sure the a health department would say you throw away anything near with a chance of getting chunks of plastic in it. Lord only knows the germs I got in my drink and small pieces I may have swallowed from whatever broke and their sitting through to pick out...
