We came here on a busy Saturday morning. I had been ranting and raving to my bf about this place as I had been this to the original location in Saint Paul before. We were disappointed to say the least. I don’t think I’ve ever written a review this long but so many things weren’t addressed.
We got there and it’s crowded; we were told a 30min wait at 9:50. We didn’t get seated until 10:45. Our server, I think her name was Jen came and brought us waters, then brought our coffees and took our food order. We didn’t see here again. Well we did, when she checked and worked on every table around us but didn’t stop back once. Our food was brought out by someone else and again we were never checked on.
Our food was not good. My chicken biscuit was soggy and cold as were my hash browns. My boyfriend said his food was okay but he’s too easy going to ever complain. Neither of our coffees tasted right but since we never saw our server again it wasn’t able to be addressed. We waited for our check but it never came and we ended up going to the host stand to try and pay.
The teenager behind the host stand wasn’t super helpful and sent us to the bar where we awkwardly stood trying to get someone’s attention. Finally the manager I assume, asked if he could help and I explained we hadn’t seen our server since she took our drink orders. He and another server apologized while we paid but I was too frustrated to even tell them about the poor quality of food. We paid $60+ for our meals and I didn’t eat mine or drink my coffee.
As someone who’s been in and around the service industry I think their sections are too big. Our server has 10 tables I could see and was out on the patio. But she also was serving tables directly to the left and right of us and still never connected with us after bringing our coffees. The host pushed us off to the bar instead of checking us out and the people behind the bar just looked right past us until I was able to catch the eye of the manager.
We were there from 9:50 when we arrived, 10:45 when we finally got seated, and we weren’t able to pay our tab until a little...
Read moreWe had reservations for 11am on a Saturday. It was LOUD inside due to the crammed and cramped layout of this spot. Every table was uncomfortably close to one another, and good luck getting to your table without maneuvering in odd ways as tables were literally 5 inches apart from each other. They crammed as many tables and people in there as possible, making it a sensory overload. We had to yell to communicate with the waiters and couldn't hear what they were saying half the time. You could hear everyone else's conversations due to the close proximity. There are two doors entering, but only one door to exit, so the entrance was so congested as there were folks waiting for tables.
My boyfriend ordered the banana bread latte, which had no semblance of banana. It was just a latte with cinnamon on top. But the pink passion fruit lemonade was delicious. He got the piña colada pancakes and they were completely doused in syrup, making it unbearably sweet where he couldn't finish them. I got the Hawaiian bowl which was quite good. But there were only two small pieces of avocado on the whole thing, which was disappointing as that was one of the first items on the description.
Our server never brought us silverware or napkins, so we had to ask for them. The napkins they brought us were paper towels from the dispenser outside the bathroom area. That was unacceptable and just plain weird for an upscale place.
Overall, this was not a good first impression and we were quite disappointed as we were excited to try this spot. Maybe we'll order again for takeout but never again dining in.
UPDATE: We decided to give them a second try with ordering to-go. I got carrot cake pancakes and loaded hashbrowns. There was not one piece of carrot in the pancakes and the syrup had a really strong aftertaste. The loaded hashbrowns were incredibly salty, but good overall.
My boyfriend got biscuits and gravy. They used mushroom gravy for it??? Not the correct type of gravy for that dish, and he could not finish the dish due to this.
We will not be returning for dine-in or take-out. Completely missed the...
Read moreTerrible experience!!! I have had a good experience at the St Paul location and was excited that they opened one closer to me. I did not expect the service to be this bad in in Woodbury.
We received a text that our table was ready so we went up to the host and she looked at me dumbfounded. She asked why I was at the front and I replied that I got the text in which she replied," Oh what's your name again?" Then when we were getting seated she said she would bring us kids menus but never came back.
We sat for 20 minutes before our waiter came. After the waiter took our drink order we waited another 20 min before getting the drinks. No utensils were provided so we couldnt stir sugar in our coffee.
Another waiter brought over the tumbler of coffee and left it at our table. It was empty...
We noticed that people who arrived after us had already gotten their food and left. Those guests were being served by another waiter.... Probably the only legit waiter on staff.
Our waiter had a bad attitude. It doesn't matter if she was upset at the staff or guests.. you don't take it out of other guests...
We looked at the other guests and, yep, they were all upset too.You guys really need to figure out a better process and cut those who are slowing you down. You're at an overall 3.7 star right now... Not good guys...
Food: Don't get the sausage patty. I'm not the first to say that it's gross and cheap. Mine came out cold...
Drip coffee is not good. Lol.... For a breakfast place it was bad
I ordered their coconut latte. It tasted like water with a hint of coconut... Not good...
I couldn't ever come back. It...
