Ehrke’s Appliance — Local services in Woodstock

We've hired them twice to fix two separate appliances (an oven and a dryer). They seemed kind of shady when it came to the first appliance that was an oven that stopped heating (on thanksgiving no less!) They told us that wires were burned inside the oven and it needed to be replaced. They left the entire appliance unhooked when they left. We could not use the stovetop because they left it unhooked. They also pressured us to buy a used appliance from them (which was more then twice the cost of the habitat for humanity restore). I eventually hired someone else to install a different one.

Having forgotten about that experience, I called them to fix our dryer. After looking at it, they told us the coil was bad and ordered a new one. They said the part would be in the next day and that they could replace it then. They show up the next day with the coil and tell us that the coil isn't really broken and they were guessing when they told us that and the piece we actually need replaced is the timer (which cost significantly more). They left our dryer completely disassembled and said they will order the part and can fix it tomorrow. When they called my husband to talk to him about what needed to be replaced, they tried to sell him a new dryer!

We had the drainage assembly fail on a 23 year old Amana washing machine. After researching we decided to replace it with a Maytag. We ordered the matching set through Lowe’s only to have them cancel the dryer two days before delivery. We still had them deliver the washing machine (because we NEEDED it!) and then continued our search for the dryer. Everyone we called who showed it “in stock” online told us it was back ordered 4-6 weeks at least. After reading an article about the current appliance shortage, I followed the authors advice and looked into two different LOCAL appliance companies. Ehrkes was prompt to respond and was true to their stock online! I called and they were able to deliver it the following morning! They included all install materials in their delivery price and made the installation as simple as possible! I will absolutely recommend them to family and friends! My dad needed a new refrigerator but is unable to walk much due to a medical condition so I went shopping for him. My schedule is ridiculous with work and taking care of him so I didn’t want to spend a bunch of time on this project. I stopped at Ehrke’s appliance and talked with Bob Ehrke about what we needed and could afford. He gave us a great price and an amazing refrigerator! Not only that but they totally worked with me and my availability to bring new fridge and take the old one. His two delivery guys showed up and there was a problem trying to hook the water up, through no fault of there own. Bob came to the house, left to pick up supplies and had it up and running in an hour. I am so happy we were able to shop locally and can guarantee a big box store would not of gone that extra mile to solve our problem and let alone the same day.
