We hired Murphy’s to install new laminate flooring in our first home & we were so impressed with the work, we hired them again a year later when purchasing a new home. Our second experience was much different from the first. Prior to moving in we were taking care of some large ticket items such as having the interior of the house professionally painted (which was completed prior to the flooring install), new flooring install, etc. For this job they were to remove the hardwood flooring down to the sub and replace it with carpet. The same crew came out to both jobs. The day of the job I was working from home, went to go use the bathroom & there was pee all over the seat and floor—I’m not talking a dribble, I mean a puddle. I confronted the lead of the job who immediately outed this kid working with them, who looked high out of his mind. The kid cleaned it up. They completed the install and had me come inspect it, for me to realize they left holes, scuffs, dents, etc. all over the drywall in both rooms of the install RIGHT AFTER having everything professionally painted. One or two is one thing, things happen, but this was a lot & clearly they didn’t care as long as they got the job done so they could go home. Additionally, we were told our trim would be gently removed from the wall so it could go back up, but more than half was destroyed. When I asked why there was no answer that made it excusable, I’m a reasonable person with understanding, but the feeling I got was just pure negligence. I immediately sent our sales guy photos of the walls & trim/baseboards. The best they could do was offer me a credit of what it would cost to have the painter come back out & repair everything. While I’m trying to sell one home, fix up another before moving my stuff in, now I’ve got to add more work to my plate for your crew’s mistake by coordinating with the painter, etc. I was so put off by that, YOU coordinate with a painter to get it resolved instead of making your error my problem. The crew also offered to buy a new baseboard to come & replace the spots that were broken, at first I was glad they were righting a wrong… but it took them weeks to go & buy it and reach out to schedule install. At that point, out of principle, I was done with them and handled it on my own. Severely disappointed in our experience & sadly won’t be returning for any...
Read moreWonderful customer service! Pat and the rest of the team are very knowledgeable!! They are very competitive with their prices and will help bounce ideas to help you make the right decision for any house project. I’ve gone back to the store for all my carpet, tile, and vinyl flooring needs. I even had an issue with design for my staircase and they helped solve the problem with other solutions to get me the perfect outcome! They are a small family owned business but the many many years of experience makes you feel like you have a personal designer by your side through the whole process. I would definitely recommend their...
Read moreWe recently had a carpet replaced with LVP in one room. Our cat had decided that a few corners of said carpet made a great litter box, and the room was unbearable. We called Luna first, who gave us a ridiculously high estimate for a relatively small room, and friends of ours recommended Murphy’s. Murphy’s had better tiles for a much better price, AND their installers went and grabbed paint for the subfloor to cover the cat pee smell for us and didn’t charge us a penny extra for it. Our new flooring is beautiful and the room smells wonderful. We will absolutely call Murphy’s the next time we...
