READ THIS !!!!!!!!!!
This Plato’s Closet is AMAZING . I have been to this location plenty of times && many other locations && this one is by far the best . Anyone rating this location 1 star or making complaints literally sickens me . I’ve taken the time to read them && it seems they want to base the OVERALL rating of the store based off of the “ attitude of some employee “ , and /or the fact that they are the type of people to skip over hearing ,or say that they already know the buying policy, which in fact they need it explained . They CLEARLY explain that if you are selling clothing they CANNOT buy clothing over a year old && if you sell clothing to them ,the computer generates a price ( NOT THEM ) && they can only give you 3% of what the store is selling it at . If YOU CHOOSE to sell your name brand items to them , then by that explanation it’s common sense you’re not going to get a great price on it .
It’s the STORES policy , NOT theirs . So chill out you NEGATIVE NANCY-s && stop trying to bring down a store, because you failed to comprehend what the employee had explained to you when they explained the buying policy . If you needed a simpler explanation, next time ask them , don’t just say you understand so that you don’t have to listen any longer.
For people saying “ I saw clothing in the store that was over a year old && some had some stains on them . “ like BYE FELICIA ! The reason they have older items is probably because they bought the item a while ago && it hasn’t sold yet . They don’t put all that inventory out at once , it’s not like as soon as they buy it they go “ well golly ! These racks are packed but let me put out every . Single . Item . We . Got . Today . “ As for stains , come on ladies ... how many times have you tried on something && your deodorant or makeup rubbed off on it && you just put it back . Or some you women with kids that run around touching everything . Sometimes some of you women drop clothing on the floor && don’t bother to pick it up && people walk by, and step on it . USE COMMON SENSE .
Someone said they sold 2 whole bins of stuff for only $2 LMAOOO that’s not even possible . They’d have to buy everything at like 10 cents .... if you’re going to try && bring down the store at least seem accurate. It just seems like there are some illiterate, bored people , probably from clothing stores near by posting fake reviews so that their business...
Read moreI feel that one way the overall company could improve is by having each specific store have an updated list of what type and what brands they are currently seeking. I also feel that you should be provided a specific print out of how much was offered for each item they keep. About 10% of the time I feel as though they have overpaid me and leave there feeling almost guilty, so to help me sleep at night I just think back to the remaining 90% where I feel they buy more but offer next to nothing per item. True story Ex.1: They bought 2 jersey knit shirts (Michael Kors) in moderate condition $6 awesome! Ex. 2: 1 Columbia Jacket (worn 2x spent $150+), 1 Elie Tahari silk blouse (new w/ tags spent $100+), 1 Juicy Couture t-shirt (new w/ tags), 1 Juicy Couture dress (new w/ tags spent $200+ that they didn't even buy), and more, but all were next to if not tag-still-attached new and they gave me $20. I asked if they could provide me an itemized receipt and was told by the teen at the counter, No, that is until the manager standing behind him laughed and told me and the employee that they do offer an itemized customer copy. Unfortunately the customer copy is vague and worthless as far as providing a blue print to their pricing protocols. They also are not consistent on buying. I've also had items turned away just to come back the next day with the same exact items plus some other items to have them buy them all! I give them the benefit of the doubt and like to assume it is because they sold out of every type of item they just yesterday rejected. Those are just my best and worst experiences but overall it is cash in your hand at the end of the day. Just lacks...
Read moreComing from a business owner myself, I’m going to be completely honest.
From what I have seen there is a lot to choose from and prices are fair and the people that work there seem to be nice.
What I didn’t like was that I brought in clothes, shoes, jewelry, etc. Granted, I understand you cannot accept certain items, clothes with stains, tears, certain brands, some jewelry. That’s totally understandable. I wouldn’t expect you too. However I had brand new clothes some still with tags and others without that did not get accepted and these were brands that you guys accepted. Out of curiosity I asked why that was and they said because they had stains and I’m thinking how is that possible? They are brand new and were just hanging in my closet. I even took a look at them after the fact and I seen nothing. I took a walk around the store and I’ve seen quite a few stains on some shirts. They also said they weren’t accepting any bras. I had a VS USA sports bra that was brand new, I got home to see that they never gave it back!
Over all, it beats buying stuff online with additional shipping costs, and being able to try it on. Which is nice!
I was happy with what I got with the clothes price wise with what I did sell. I understand that you guys need to make money too. Plus I wasn’t going to wear them anyway. If you are looking to get more money for your clothes then selling them online is your best bet. I just don’t have the time. It’s much easier for me to just bring the clothes in!
Anyways, hope all is well!...
