I have posted photos and completed reviews of some of the stops along the entire Blue Ridge Parkway. Here are the words you will find those reviews: Majestic, beautiful, supremely gorgeous, amazing, breathtaking, awe-inspiring, and many more. None of my photos (and I took hundreds) did any justice. I describe these photos like my photos at the Grand Canyon - "that picture is not what I saw!" But, I did the best I could. You can't capture the beauty, solitude, grandeur, and majesty of the Blue Ridge Highway in words or pictures. For years I wanted to ride it. When I did, I got more than I bargained for, much more. There are no dull spots along the way. It think I gave a couple overlook reviews four stars, but only because in comparison of the whole, they were only...

Gorgeous drive! Many places to stop and view the scenery at overlooks. Many places to exit if you get tired of driving or need to use the restroom, eat, etc. Lots of tunnels to drive through. Very peaceful. No matter the time of year I recommend a jacket as the elevation changes drastically. At the entrance the temperature was 91°. At some of the higher elevations it was closer to 60°. There are no restrooms or gas stations or restaurants on the actual parkway, so you need to plan accordingly when you’re driving. There are many places to exit along the way so you can take care of personal needs though. A must see if you...

As you leave Cherokee, NC I suggest you take a little detour and travel this section of the Blue Ridge Parkway. As you enter the parkway you begin climbing up the mountains and through a number of tunnels. This is a beautiful stretch of road that is time consuming and will require concentrate as you travel. But the views along the way are breathtaking and the spots along the route for you to pull off and get great photos of the surrounding mountains. Along the way their is animals to be seen along with signs that help explain what your seeing. A must for anybody who...
