I was with my family for a camping trip in the Smoky Mountains, when we stopped in a small, quaint town of Cherokee for gifts and t-shirts. I spotted the Heavenly Fudge Factory, and we decided to procure some local fudge.
Immediately after entering, I asked the employees behind the counter if they had milk. I came fully prepared to purchase pounds of fudge, but I just needed milk. This is where my experience went completely downhill: I asked a younger employee (probably about 17-19) if they sold milk, he scowled and rudely responded, “heh—too bad! YOU’ll have to go somewhere else then.” He didn’t even look at me when he told me to leave for asking for milk.
This specific employee has a terrible attitude—he should be working in the back where he can’t interact with customers—or not work there at all.
I would have gone elsewhere to get fudge, but Heavenly Fudge has a monopoly on it. I still supported the local businesses, and I went and bought milk at a nearby coffee shop for $1.00.
Two takeaways for Heavenly Fudge:
Sell Milk —goes great with an excess of fudge —there are already refrigerators there with soda pop
Relocate the arrogant, rude teen to the back of the store. —see above for...
This place is awful! The lady that owns it has no personality and clearly has no interest in keeping business. We use to come here every spring and fall when I was a child and I have such fond memories of this place, but it is absolutely nothing like I remember. We stopped in there a few days ago and the lady barely had any fudge at all and what she did have were unusual flavors! All that she had was bourbon fudge and cookies & cream fudge, and weird taffy, yuck! The lady has zero interest in trying to keep us in her store and it’s over priced; it used to be “buy a pound, get a pound free” there were no special deals! This place is a total rip off and tarnished all of my childhood memories. I told the lady that we’d be going elsewhere. I recommend going to the Candy Kitchen; the fudge is delicious, the prices are much better, and the staff is...
Read moreMy cousin and I went in today on our way out of Cherokee heading home. The lady working was very rude. She didn’t welcome us, she huffed when I told her what I wanted, (which was just 4 turtles and 1 slice of fudge so it wasn’t complicated at all). The fudge taste amazing and my husband said the turtles are great so I’m giving 3 stars because when you work in a shop that tourist come in you need to be friendly. I hate to assume things but she was very out of it and seemed to be heavily medicated or on some type of drugs.
I hate we were an inconvenience to her. I will find another fudge shop...
