We make alot of trips to Cherokee, as we have friends who live there and love the area. My wife and I visit Southern Charm store in Cherokee on most of our trips and have purchased many hundreds of dollars of items they sell there. On our last trip I purchased a $60 + shirt that I really thought looked great even though it was make over seas. After wearing it my wife washed it and noticed it had shrunk quite a bit very disappointed. So last week we called ahead explained on phone and made another trip from SC to their store for a exchange, " Wrong" after showing the owner (Scott) mom the shirt she said you washed it wrong to my wife standing there amazement she placed the blame on her, my wife stated she washed it in cool water, she again said I'm sure you washed it wrong, my supplier want give me credit back, I said I only want another shirt as a replacement buy she wasn't really willing to her at all saying I'm going to loose, this was your fault. So I told her I would give it to Salvation Army. No when you purchase as much as we have in the past never ever bringing anything back and when we did then put all the blame on us. Very poor customer relations. Maybe she thinks one person doesn't matter but believe me it does. Those five starts I see arn't true stars my friend from other reviews we've seen. My point is we were treated as a customer who only wanted something for nothing and that was so far from the truth. We gave the shirt away to a needy person. Why the fuss, it's just people in business like this that's making great money forget the customer. Like my restaurant if I serve what appears to be a great meal to a customer and for some reason it not up to part in the customer opinion I take care of it. Why I want to please them and want their business on another day. Southern Charm isn't the Charm in our eyes and our friends who want be going there again. Maybe you'll never notice our few dollars spent there but one think we had a problem regardless how small you dropped the ball. Not Scott, he wasn't there, his mom I'm sure is a good person, but customer service person she needs alot of training and working on her people skills. Will miss stopping by but that's our...
Read moreThis store has beautiful merchandise, some reasonable priced and others out rageously over priced ( their boots). There was an older gentleman working there going around making sure no one needed any assistance, very pleasant and I believe an asset to the store, unlike the young girl that helped me when I found a dress I really liked and very reasonably priced and wanted to try on. She had just asked my husband if he needed any help with any of the boots, but when I mentioned I would like to try the dress on, she literally looked me up and down from head to toe with really snotty look on hete face. My husband and I followed her to the dressing room where she still had never spoke the first word to me. I tried the dress on stepped out for my husband to see and their should stood right at the door like I was going to steal something and again she looked me up and down with a snotty rude look on her face, never spoke a word. I told my husband the dress was to loose on me and was not very flattering, it was a beautiful dress. When I came back out of dressing room she was still standing there never said anything, didn't offer to put the dress up or help me with anything. All I can say was if continues to work they with here rude attitude you will lose business, no southern charm with her. She made me feel so bad about myself and upset me for half the day. I even thought I may have miss taken her, BUT No, my husband noticed it too and mentioned it to me, he was almost upset as me. He even went back the next day to see if she was working to tell owner of her behavior but she was not there. You need more people like the older gentleman working there with manners...
Read moreRecently visited Southern Charm. We drove from Black Mountain, NC to Cherokee, NC - about an hour and a half - just to visit Southern Charm. I've followed the store on Facebook for a while and I already knew I was going to purchase something once I got there. It was a Friday night, roughly an hour or so before closing. I asked if I could use the restroom, and said that I specifically drove over an hour to just visit their store, so I already knew I was going to make a purchase. They rudely said they didn't have a restroom and that we would have to walk to the Subway across the street. Even though I didn't want to go back into the store after finding a restroom, I did, based soley on the fact that we drove all that way. I felt that the employees were more concerned with discussing the social plans they made after work than assisting their customers. I had to ask for a fitting room, even though I was walking around the store for at least 20 minutes with my arms full of things to try on. No one in the store appeared friendly, willing to help customers, or happy to be there. As a customer from out-of-town, I felt like a complete bother. I ended up purchasing 3 items and when I went to check out, I was barely greeted and my things were just thrown into the bag. All of that aside, the store was extremely clean and well organized compared to the neighboring businesses. The variety of merchandise and the long drive to get there were the only reasons I...
