Carolinas Coneys & Cream — Restaurant in Yellowhill Community

We visited on Sunday, 9/07/25. The ice cream was good and the outdoor atmosphere was very nice, but unfortunately the customer service left a lot to be desired. When we arrived, the staff didn’t acknowledge us—they were focused on stocking cones and other tasks. When one of the girls finally made eye contact, she pointed to another employee as if she didn’t want to take our order and went back to stocking.

When my son asked about toppings, the response was dismissive and unenthusiastic: “ummm… sprinkles… nuts,” with an attitude that felt unwelcoming. For an ice cream shop, toppings are a pretty standard part of the experience, and it didn’t seem like too difficult of a question. Overall, the staff came across as disinterested and unfriendly, which dampened what should have been a fun family visit.

That said, the location itself is very cute, and the splash pad area for kids is a great touch. Hopefully this was just an off day for the employees, and we’ll give it another try...

I'm not sure why the reviews are so mediocre for this place. It was the only ice cream place open late on sunday night. I didn't realize cherokee shuts down at 6pm on sundays, i mean it's tourist season, what gives? But anyway, we promised our kiddos ice cream, and fortunately this place was open after 8 pm on sunday and they had great ice cream. They were out of a few flavors, but that's to be expected at the end of the day. The woman working there was plenty friendly, especially after what I'm sure was a long and exhausting day. I can only imagine what these Karen's complaining about customer service expect from people working low paying jobs, standing on their feet all day. It's a great ice cream place, and definitely...

Fake Superman Ice cream that is NOTHING but vanilla ice cream.

Shattered my heart and got my hopes up for absolutely nothing. If I wanted vanilla ice cream, I would have gone to the grocery store for a PINT of vanilla ice cream, that actually would have been good.

And then…

The nachos and cheese was served as the color of Tang (you remember the childhood drink) yeah, that color. And only gave me 12 chips. And a buttload of cheese, but not enough chips.

They gave me a spoon for my nachos???
