Well, reading the reviews, I should have listened. I spent 20$ here earlier on two used jeans and a handkerchief. After finding several pairs that had hand written sizes (presumably to make shopping easier by having the size more accessible to patrons) that had a discrepancy with the manufacturers size, I brought them to the counter, and was told a manager was on the way. I shrugged and left them, as I said my peace - simply that there was a discrepancy. The manager found me to inform me that manufacturers sizes can be wrong by up to three inches, allegedly, due to the process. So, based on his assertion, I bought a pair that says its 33 inches. I often wear size 32 snugly or just fine depending on the manufacturer. These did not fit whatsoever, and seemed to actually be the 31 inches listed by the manufacturer.
TL;Dr I bought 11$ used jeans based on managers assertion that their mislabeled sizing that is not congruent with manufacturers label was correct, and now have jeans that don't fit. No changing room available, all sales are final.
Update; they fixed the issue in a way that was meaningful to me and I would consider shopping there again, but following the manufacturer's sizing, and not what they've written...
Read moreToday was my first time visiting, and it was quite the place! This is definitely the kind of thrift shop you have to be committed to digging for hours. Clothing items are organized by colors from every section that I noticed, not by size. That alone means you’re gonna have to do a lot of looking to find what sizes you’re searching for. Not necessarily a bad thing, just an observation. I’d say overall, it’s fairly well organized. The pricing seems inconsistent to me. Like a Target brand t-shirt was marked for the same price as it would be retail value. Prices were super, super random on some things. For example, $13.40 or $4.70 as opposed to just $13 or $14, or $4 or $5. One thing I noticed that was super cool was that the employees seemed happy and I heard (who I assumed to be managers) being very encouraging and appreciative to their staff. You don’t see that a lot, especially in retail. Thought that was awesome. A really cool thing they had going on was 3 items for $1 on a specific colored tag, and then $1 per item for certain colored tags. Overall, really enjoyed it! Super, super busy! Perhaps that was just because I went on a weekend afternoon. Would recommend people...
Read moreWhen I was young my family relied on "Value Village" (now Value World) for affordable second hand clothing. I went in the store today to look around after coming from another thrift store (Volunteers of America in Westland, great store highly recommended). After not having been there for a few years I was shocked at the prices. I think they have forgotten they are a second hand thrift store. Consignment shops in the area that buy clothes from don't charge as much as this place that SELLS DONATIONS.
Also, not sure what the other people are on about the store being clean... It is organized somewhat, but still as dirty and dingy as ever.
A few examples:
One ratty red mens suit was $100, are you people serious.
A Lions jacket was priced at $35, I happen to have the same jacket, it was $40 new...
Bottom line is half of these clothes you could get new from Tjmaxx or Marshall's for the same price or less.
Absolutely a zero star in my books, sad they have forgotten their...
