So I went to Con Market on a Friday morning during my Da Nang trip, and it was already super happening. Whole place was buzzing with life — locals, tourists, aunties bargaining, uncles loading baskets of groceries... pure organised chaos (in a good way). Apparently, this place has been around since the 1940s — it started off on a small hill (that’s why it’s called “Con”, which means hill in Vietnamese), and over the years it evolved into this mega wet/dry market right in the city. From what I read, it’s one of the oldest and most popular markets in Da Nang. Now if you’re a foodie like me, you must explore the food section. I tried bánh xèo, some grilled skewers, and a bowl of mì quảng — all under S$3. I kid you not, I could have sat there all day just ordering dish after dish. Portions not super big, so can try more things. The stall owners were friendly too — even with language barrier, still can manage with gestures and smiles. Then when you walk deeper into the market, there’s a whole section selling dried seafood (think ikan bilis, dried shrimp, cuttlefish), and another section full of nuts and snacks. I was honestly shocked at how many different types of nuts they have — cashews, almonds, macadamias, even flavoured ones like garlic and honey roasted. Great for snacking or bringing home for family/friends. Prices were pretty reasonable, especially if you buy in bulk — just be ready to haggle a bit. They’re used to tourists so no problem lah, but do bring small notes and some reusable bags if you plan to shop. Oh and pro tip — it’s hot inside, so wear light clothes and bring tissue + hand sanitiser. Also, be prepared to squeeze through narrow aisles. Not the most “comfortable” shopping experience, but it’s part of the charm. All in all, Con Market is a must-visit if you want to experience the real Da Nang. Food, shopping, local life — everything rolled into one chaotic but fun stop. Just make sure to go hungry… and maybe bring extra luggage space for all the nuts you’ll end up buying.

A Treasure Trove of Local Delights - Friendly vendors and a lively atmosphere: This bustling marketplace is perfect for exploring local specialties. - Variety of local food options: Savor delicious banh mi, paper roll pork, dumplings, and refreshing avocado drinks. - Fresh produce and dried goods: Discover an array of fresh fruits, nuts, and dried goods to take home. - Unique souvenirs and homeware: Browse an assortment of local handicrafts, souvenirs, and homeware items. Highlights and Tips - More to offer than Han Market: This marketplace provides a more diverse and interesting shopping experience. - Walkable distance from Han Market: Easily accessible on foot, but be aware of the ongoing pavement renovation. - Be prepared for a lively atmosphere: With many vendors and shoppers, this marketplace can be quite lively and energetic. Recommendations - Arrive early to beat the crowds: Get there early to explore the market before it gets busy. - Try local specialties: Don't miss the opportunity to try some of the unique local foods and drinks. - Haggle politely: Be prepared to haggle prices, but do so in a respectful and friendly manner.

This is a real funny place. I call it the hurly-burly market 😆💮❤.. It's always like a great expedition to visit ... The bustling and always crowded market represents the Vietnamese way of living in many ways. Colourful outlays, stuffed areas, loud talking and laughing market-women, a huge choice of food and drinks, a - kind of confusing - wide variety of goods... The farmers market with fresh products is grandiose. Early in the morning fresh meat, fish and seafood is available. Endless vegetables and fruits, fresh and dried herbs, spices, dried fish and meats, different rice and any kind of noodles, cereals, pulse, beans, different home-made sauces, pastes and pulp... Everything what you need to prepare and cook your favourite dishes at home you will get at Côn Market! The prices are reasonable. If you are a foreigner (as me) it is recommended to speak at least a little Vietnamese to convince the market-women, being able to bargain and joke around with them. 😁 5* for this lovely local market in middle of Da Nang city centre . It' s always a pleasure to go back ❤ ...

A Vibrant and Flavorful Experience at Con Market – A Must-Visit in Da Nang!

Con Market is an absolute gem in Da Nang for anyone wanting to experience the city's authentic local flavor, culture, and everyday life. I spent a few hours here and could have easily stayed longer—it’s buzzing with energy, filled with friendly locals, and packed with amazing food.

Atmosphere & Cleanliness: The market is lively, colorful, and well-organized despite the crowds. While it’s a traditional Vietnamese market, I was pleasantly surprised by how clean and neat everything felt. The food court area is especially tidy, with vendors constantly cleaning their stalls. There’s a sense of organized chaos that feels exciting rather than overwhelming.

Local Food Paradise: The highlight for me was the food section—absolutely incredible! There’s a wide variety of affordable and delicious local dishes: bánh bèo, bún mắm, nem lụi, chè, fresh seafood, and so much more. Each stall is run by kind and passionate vendors who are happy to help or explain, even if there’s a slight language barrier. You can taste a lot with just a few dollars. It’s a true street food heaven.

Shopping Variety: Beyond food, Con Market offers a wide range of local products: clothes, accessories, dried fruits, snacks, and souvenirs. Prices are usually fair, and bargaining is part of the fun—but always done with smiles and respect on both sides. I bought a few local treats and some handmade items that felt more authentic than touristy shops elsewhere.

Location & Accessibility: Con Market is centrally located and easy to reach by foot or Grab from anywhere in Da Nang. It’s just a short ride from the beach or Dragon Bridge area, making it a great stop in between sightseeing. Despite being busy, it felt safe and welcoming for solo travelers like me.

Final Thoughts: If you want to dive into the local lifestyle and eat like a true Da Nang local, Con Market is the place to go. It’s more than just a market—it’s a living, breathing part of the city's soul. Come hungry, bring your curiosity, and enjoy every bite and interaction. Highly...
