Description

Aungmyaythazan district is known for Mandalay Hill, popular for its city and sunset views, and home to Buddhist sites such as gilded Su Taung Pyae Pagoda. Established in the 1850s, Mandalay Palace was rebuilt in the 1990s with lavish throne halls and mausoleums in a leafy complex ringed by fortress walls and a moat.
