This small bakery was just down the street from our Tirana hotel. Every time we walked past we noticed many locals eating there. We also couldn’t help but salivate at the delicious aroma of the fresh baking. So we decided to give it a try.
Our first visit was a quick sit-down snack (they have a few tables on the sidewalk) just to see if the food was as tasty as the aromas. One of us ordered a big piece of spinach pie (delightful, rich, buttery pastry and fresh spinach) while the other ordered a puff pastry stuffed with spicy meat and cheese (think pizza pocket but actually delicious!). At 330L this was an incredible bargain for such high quality savoury treats.
Our second visit had us try the meat and onion pie, and a pastry pocket filled with sausage (think “hot dogs” but actually super tasty). The meat and onion pie was absolutely off-the-charts - sooo good! Throw in a couple Brava juices and you have a quick, light lunch for only 550L!

They were really busy, but the guy behind the counter was so patient with us and our lack of Albanian and not knowing which fragrant, flaky pastry to choose. We went with one meat and one tomato and onion and the recommended Ayran yogurt drink (oh my GOSH that stuff is good!!). Very reasonably priced and so, so good. I wish we had more room to try one of everything. This will be the first place we go the next time...
