Cheap milanesas ("mila") sandwiches. Very popular for the working class. Althugh sometimes there is a long queue, it goes pretty fast. You first order in the sandwiches queue (usually on the street), and then you go to the other queue to pay. Cash or debit. If you want a hot meal, go inside to the bottom left (there is no queue for hot meals but you will have to wait) You should ask for half a sandwich because it is huge. A man is done with half. What you are seeing in the picture is two quarters, compared with a plastic bottle cap. Price is around 2,5 USD. They'll ask you which type of bread you want (pebete, figazza, baguette), if you want beef or chicken milanesa, if you want to add mayo or not, and what else do you want to add. I added ham, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and hard-bolied egg.

tasteatlas recommended this place for the best sanguche de lomo in argentina. we had to go (i’m vegetarian so i didn’t try but the veggie empanada was 4 out of 5) and my dad loved it! for ~7USD you get a pretty big sandwich with a nice slab of meat. you get to choose all of your toppings as well. pretty fast service for what it is and staff was super friendly. highly recommend this for a foodie’s bucket list (pictured above is only half of the sandwich haha)

Massive sandwiches! I had the milanesa completo for 7000$ (6 USD), and could barely finish it. Two giant milanesas plus cheese, hard-boiled egg, lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise. This place is popular with the locals at all hours. The interior is a bit shabby, but the sandwiches more than make up for it.

A hole-in-the-wall place with life-changing sandwiches. The sandwiches are absolutely delicious, HUGE, and very reasonably priced considering their size and quality. The staff are friendly and efficient, which is helpful given how busy the place gets. It seems like EL Buen Libro caters mostly to local office-workers in the area, but it should be in any visitor's "must-visit" list, especially since it's so close to so many of BA's tourist attractions. There's a seating area upstairs, but if it's too crowded, there's also a park very nearby in which to...
