Estilo Campo Restaurante is an Argentinian steak restaurant located in the Puerto Madero section of beautiful Buenos Aires, Argentina. I chose this restaurant because of its numerous high ratings on several review sites.
We arrived at 8:30pm for our reservation at an empty restaurant. Apparently the locals don't eat until later in the evening and sure enough by the time we left, around 10:30pm, the restaurant was pretty packed.
We began with some cocktails while we waited for our appetizers. The cheese, meat and veggie plate came out first with a delicious dip in the center. It came with a generous basket of various types of bread.
The second course of appetizers came out starting with the gambas, aka shrimp. They were sauteed in a garlic tomato sauce and were tasty. The star appetizer was surprisingly the fried provolone cheese. It was absolutely delicious. I would go back just for that!
For my main, I ordered the tomahawk ribeye steak. It was about $30. It was huge but manageable and was cooked perfectly to my taste, medium rare. I asked for sauteed onions, which was not on the menu, but they made me some very nice grilled sliced onions, which did the job. Extra points for not saying NO and being creative.
Gustave, our server was super helpful and friendly, guiding us along the way with our menu choices. He even lit my sambuca on fire after he poured it for a little extra flair!
The food was extremely well priced. We did have two bottles of local Malbec which contributed to about half the price of the bill ($160 of $320 total bill for 3). Had we not ordered wine and cocktails, dinner for the 3 of us would have been just over $100. Where can you get an amazing steak and meal for about $100 for 3 people?
Overall, it was a very nice meal and experience. I will definitely go back again next time...

Gustavo was in charge of our table, and he was rude from beginning to end, making the entire dining experience uncomfortable. I don’t understand why we had to pay that much money only to receive such unfriendly service.
While we spoke at least basic Spanish, he made no effort to speak even a single word of English—whether because he couldn’t or wouldn’t—and became visibly annoyed when we didn’t speak Spanish fluently. He didn’t explain a single thing about the menu, and later, when we simply asked for an itemized bill to settle the check among ourselves, there must have been some miscommunication—but instead of clarifying, he complained to the manager right in front of us, making the situation even more awkward.
If you’re looking for a pleasant dining experience, I would suggest avoiding this restaurant—or at least avoiding Gustavo.
A place at this price point should invest in proper...
Read moreEstilo Campo is located in the heart of Buenos Aires' bustling restaurant district, situated on the riverbank. It was listed as the top 10 best restaurants in town by food experts. The restaurant has elegant interior décor and large venue. Unlike typical US dining hours, Estilo Campo opens at 8pm. When we arrived promptly, the first thing we saw was an army of eager waiters ready to serve. Our lead waiter, Mr. Fernando, was super friendly and knowledgeable, recommending exceptional meat-driven dishes. I opted for the Tira de Asado (Argentina style grilled beef short ribs) perfectly paired with a glass of Malbec, one of Argentina's well-known red wines. The dinner was truly unforgettable, but be prepared for generous portions - the amount of meat served could easily feed a family of four! For a couple of seniors, it might be better to order a single entrée to share. Nonetheless, Estilo Campo is a great place to visit for any food enthusiast traveling to...
