Gorgeous food. I've lived in the US for years (DC most recently, previously NYC and Miami) and the food here at L'Adesso is on another (far higher!) level altogether, compared to the best Italian restaurants in DC, NYC, etc. It was little details that counted so much, and really amplified the quality quotient. Little details such as: my martini bianco was actually a glass of that, plus 2 ice-cubes - as it should be (in the US, it is a glass full of ice-cubes, with a splash of martini bianco); the bread basket was full of different textures to keep your palate engaged and counter-balance whatever dish you were eating; etc, etc. The burrata was (by far) the best quality I have ever eaten (and I must have eaten hundreds at the best Italian restaurants up and down the US East Coast) - it was not just lusciously creamy, it also managed to have a gorgeous 'levitating' texture to it. My risotto was equally heavenly: surely this is food-of-the-gods! I really appreciate 'thoughtful food' - where a lot of very careful thought has gone into producing a dish - and L'Adesso's food is absolutely that. Also lovely was to see Chef Fumarola's family drop by to check up on El Jefe! It is so nice to see children in restaurants, no matter how 'smart' the restaurant is: children always humanize an environment, and food is above all, about just that. It's not surprising that an Italian understands the humanizing power of gorgeous food and a beautiful dining experience; nor is is surprising that this experience is to be found in Buenos Aires, a dream city for those who appreciate beauty of all the arts, including the culinary ones. Thank you for a wonderful Sunday lunch - it made my day a...
Read moreIf you are celiac/gluten-free don’t get your hopes up about the amount of options they appear to have. I can’t speak to the quality of food as we left soon after sitting down. I was very excited to eat here as almost all the menu items were marked gluten-free but as soon as we started to order we were informed that many of the options actually aren’t available GF but rather it’s more of a here are the types of pastas we offer and here are the couple of sauces you can pick from. We decided to leave because the whole reason we had come was for the caico Pepe and lasagna options that couldn’t be adapted (but are marked GF, even asked if we could do just the sauce with gf pasta and were told no) When we informed the waiter he was very understanding and apologetic which is why I gave this review two stars instead of one. However, the manager was very argumentative and insistent that the small sentence they have at the bottom of the menu stating the type of GF pastas they have clears up for them falsely advertising many of the other options as GF when they’re not. The manager’s reaction truly makes me believe that the menu formatting and false listings are intentional to draw in more appeal/gf people and not a ignorant mistake. Again, I cannot speak on the food itself but proceed with caution and low expectations...
