Really bad customer service.

The food is great, but after I left I wasn't thinking about the food, I was thinking about the poor service.

First, there is an English speaking manager, which is really helpful, but when I asked him how much my bill would be (I wasn't sure if I had enough cash for cocktails afterwards), he included 'tip' as part of what I should expect to pay. That's NOT okay, frankly. Tipping isn't expected in Argentina, and even as an American I know this (I think it's stupid in my own country as well, but since it's expected, I do it). So I finish my meal, and order a drink, and I get up and leave my FULL cocktail on my table (and I hadn't paid yet). When I came back, a bus boy was clearing everything away, and my drink was in his hand on top of another glass. In the US, that would have either been taken off of my bill, or a new drink would have been made. The bus boy THREW A FIT! He literally THREW my placemat and stormed off, like it was MY FAULT that he screwed up and started clearing too soon. All he had to do was apologize and tell the manager what happened so the manager could take the drink off the bill. I get that they are busy, but I don't care. There were other little things that bothered me about the service, but I don't feel like going into them now.

I will update my review another day when the memory of the food is more present than my annoyance at the utter lack of care shown by the staff.

For now, I would say, go enjoy the food, expect nothing of the service, and DON'T...

I was at the restaurant today June, 2022. I arrived around 8pm and it was starting to get buy. Around 9pm it was busy for a Thursday night. I ordered the Bife de Lomo. One thing that I did notice was that the menu that someone posted about 4 months ago, the prices were different. I posted the menu for June, 2022 prices. It is crazy to see how prices are going up. The bread was hard and not soft. The house wine was good. My steak was good, but it wasn't like a wow wow piece of meat. Who eats steak with a large Cesar salad? I think they need to change the Cesar salad and add potatoes or other vegetables. I basically felt like eating just the steak and a huge salad. It was edible food, but I didn't see the big deal about this place. They only take local debit cards and not foreign credit cards. So be sure to take cash if you are a foreigner. They need to let you know as soon as you enter the door. I probably would not come back. I would want to try another different restaurant. They had lots of tables outside (not used in June since it was 50F/ 10C) , so it seems like its a popular place, but for me it was like eating a Chile's steak with a HUGE Cesar salad. Look at the picture that is what was on my mind. It was served on a type of Mexican beer tray. I am American and do not live here, was traveling for 4 days here so this was my honest opinion and review. Maybe its considered fine dining for this area. The total for (June, 2022) prices was around 20 USD (2,206...

It says "no-frills" believe me, there are frills. So good! I went tonight, a Wednesday during a cold snap and the place was packed! I was nervous seeing the candles on the table as I was eating with my special needs 7 year old. If I hadn't told him all day we were going, I probably would have backed out.

So glad I didn't!

I didn't see any other kids, just groups of adults and lots of couples. We split an app (Chorizo), a meal (grilled chicken with salad) and a dessert (an absolutely divine dish with bananas, dulce de leche and cream) with 2 cokes for 20270 ARS, which came out of my bank account as $17.34USD.

The service was very, very good! Our server was patient with my awful Spanish. And did 2 things I wish every server would do when serving children: 1)he poured my son's glass only 1/3 of the way. 2) he placed the hot plate on the far end of the table from my son.

We ordered everything to arrive at the same time and when we were ready to leave (my kid was getting antsy and I thought we had about 5 minutes till meltdown) the server was super duper fast to get our check and bring the card reader to pay.

If this was the kind of service we would get normally, we would have a lot more mommy-son dinner dates!

Great job! And I sort of glossed over the food...it was delicious! Everything was spiced perfectly and juicy and...

The cons (these points made me a bit hesitant, and I almost left my table as I waited: 1. Servers cannot see you due to very dim lighting (I could not read the menu until I retrieved candles from another table). I mention this since it was especially low light, much dimmer than what was required for ambiance. 2. No WiFi provided. It is important coping mechanism for the very slow service. What I ordered: 1. Ojo de bife (ribeye steak): outstanding. They cooked it perfectly, and it was better than what I had at Don Julio. However, they did not salt/brine it 2. Malbec house wine: boxed quality wine. It was one of the worst house wines I’ve had. 3. House salad of tomatoes, rucula, and onions: fresh 4. Caesar salad (side option for ribeye): poor quality - I did not touch it after trying out the soggy wilted lettuce Quality: some parts were excellence other parts were compromises. Overall, I enjoyed this place. Very slow service - over 20 minutes to order and 30 minutes to pay (I had to eventually get up and remind the waitress). This is an issue if you are trying to check out multiple places since buenos aires has limited restaurant hours… Would I get again? maybe - for lunch for lighting and off hourse (I came here for dinner, and although the quality was great the time wasted was significant acceptable) Cost: $13

What an amazing place, I don’t know where to start from. That restaurant is quite famous amongst both locals and tourists, I would recommend to book your table in advance as it can get quite busy. Location wise, it’s quite well centered in Palermo district. Brace yourself! The restaurant has a beautiful decoration and soul, servers are very nice and efficient. As for the starter, I had that local Provolone cheese flambeed with tequila and served with chorizo and vegetables. And then came the main meal : The beef fillet cooked “asado” on the traditional argentinian grill (parrilla). If you’re a meat lover, you will remember the taste of that meat that comes with its fresh herb sauce. Absolutely divine and to die for! Not to mention the great wine selection they offer to accompany your dish. In terms of prices, very affordable. Count roughly 17£ per person for a full meal course with drinks included. I will certainly be back!
