My overall place for this ice cream place, Lucciano's is: A-
I stopped here for some ice cream on my way to my hotel. They seem to be some ice cream artisans with some unique flavors. I popped in and yep, they sure specialize in ice cream and the flavors they offered were excellent.
I ordered 3 flavors in a cup in order to try as many flavors as possible. Before you go crazy for me not ordering Dulce de Leche, I know, I should have, but I didn't. I love fruit, so I ordered Strawberry, Mandarin and Marscapone (flavors of jungle fruit).
All 3 flavors were excellent - I will absolutely be back. And yes, next time, I'll order the Dulce de Leche.
The mandarin was spot on and the Marscapone was super unique and interesting and delicious.
My A- grade is based on the following: This is the Puerto Madero location (not sure, but I think there are multiple). It's a really safe bet that in Puerto Madero there will be tourists like myself that are not super fluent in Spanish, nor do they know "how to order ice cream in Argentina".
First you have to pay for your vessel and the size you want. Then you get a receipt and proceed to look at the ice cream. Give the nice person behind the counter your receipt and they tell you how many flavors your vessel merits.
I would ask the place to put up some sort of easy to understand: 1) Pay for your product 2) get a ticket 3) give the ticket to the person behind the counter to select your flavors. You see, in the US, kids just run up to the counter, and start screaming flavors while the person is madly trying to scoop the yelled out flavors into the cones. Americans are just used to picking their flavors and then paying.
Anyway - this is the same way all over Argentina in my experience.
Other than that - great place to visit and try some really terrific ice cream. You'll be...
Read moreThey have gluten free ice cream and it's delicious!! They have a variety of flavors available in the gluten free version and it's completely safe since it comes in a sealed cup. The only down side is that each cup contains only one flavor. The good thing is that these are creamy and rich in flavor without overpowering sweetness....
Read moreAnother top 5 ice cream joint in Buenos Aires. They nail the flavors and the icecream is very creamy indeed. They focus more on the flavor of the icecream, rather than trying to come up with decadent combinations like Rapa Nui. They also have some fun looking popsicles, which may draw in the little ones. Highly...
