We had the worst experience ever at a restaurant. We booked a table since reviews were amazing and me and my husband were really excited. We were received by very polite waiters and we started choosing our wine. The maître - Juan- showed up and started talking about the wines and what we were looking for. We chose the wine according to Juan’s suggestions. We also ordered water too. When the water arrived it was an imported from Italy, looking at the menu there was local water available that they didn’t even care to ask which one we wanted, just bringing the most expensive. The local water was 3000 pesos and the Italian one 9000 pesos. The wine arrived and the Maître - Juan put the wine in a decanter, but he left around 1/4 of the bottle in the bottle not putting in the decanter. After a few minutes Juan removed the bottles from out table bringing it to another table close the waiters. I called a waiter asking for the bottle back since there was still wine there, the waiter told me that I was mistaken and that the bottle was empty. My husband was able to see where they had put the bottle from his seat and I then asked the bottle back with the excuse to take a picture of the label. When they brought it back it had the 1/4 bottle inside. When I asked Juan what had happened he - clearly uncomfortable- answered that the bottle contains residues and that we would use another glass for that. After this no waiter went to our table, we wanted to have dinner but no waiters or menus were available for us - on a Tuesday night - nobody at the restaurant. We finished the bottle (using our glasses not others) after almost screaming for a waiter to come to the table to ask the bill we were able to leave the place after only the wine and the water. We went to Cabana Las Lilas, just beside and amazing place, the experience there was really worth it. Don’t spend your time and money with people that Cauce works with. I cannot opine about food since nobody even asked the reason why we were leaving and we did not eat there...
Read moreCauce, located in the charming area of Puerto Madero in Buenos Aires, is a delightful destination for anyone looking to savor outstanding Italian-inspired cuisine. My visit to Cauce was truly a memorable dining experience, especially highlighted by their exceptional Gnocchi and Seafood Risotto.
The Gnocchi, served in a rich, velvety sauce, was simply divine. Each piece was pillowy soft, melting effortlessly in the mouth—a testament to the chef's expertise in Italian cooking. On the other hand, the Seafood Risotto was a masterpiece of flavors. It was perfectly creamy, with each grain of rice cooked to just the right level of tenderness, and generously laden with fresh, succulent seafood that tasted as if it had been caught just moments before being served.
Adding to the wonderful food was the impeccable service, particularly from Rosario, our server for the evening. Rosario's attentiveness and detailed knowledge of the menu made our dining experience even more enjoyable. She recommended the perfect pairings for our dishes and was attentive without being intrusive, striking just the right balance that you hope for in a fine dining experience.
Cauce has not only mastered the art of Italian cuisine but also understands the essence of customer service, making it a must-visit restaurant in Puerto Madero. Whether you're a local or a tourist, make sure to add Cauce to your list of culinary adventures—you won't be...
Read moreWe had a reservation on January 1st at another restaurant in Buenos Aires that called and cancelled the reservation 1 hour before the designated dining time. The reservation was for a party of 14. I walked in to several restaurants in the Puerto Madero area and was told they could not accommodate such a party at this late date. When I inquired at Cauce Ristorante the manager told me that she could make up a room to serve our group if I could give her an hour. I made the reservation and returned with the group an hour later. To my surprise our waiter, Ignacio, brought champagne to each of my guests (on the house). The staff of the restaurant made us comfortable in the semi-private room and took the drink orders. When they brought the food out we were all so impressed at the portion sizes as well as the quality of the food. I was informed that the restaurant only opened within the year and I believe they are one of the best restaurants I experienced in Buenos Aires.
Don't miss this Gem before it becomes too difficult to get into.
One thing to remember during the summers in Buenos Aires, bring mosquito repellant. The bogs are near Puerto Madero and when it rains the...
