I saw Pisca listed several times on blogs for having among the best empanadas in Buenos Aires. I disagree, but as I'll explain, it may be worth your visit anyway.
Pisca is a cute corner restaurant in a beautiful area of Palermo Soho. They specialize in pizza and empanadas but have some other options on the menu. I chose to try their carne empanada, as well as one with cheese and onions. To my surprise, the cheese and onion was delicious- on its own, worth of 4 stars. The meat empanada, quite honestly, was the worst one I tried during my 8 days in the city. It had absolutely no flavor and was incredibly disappointing.
Alas, the biggest surprise of the visit came with their green salad. After a week of steaks, provaleta, croissants and endless empanadas, what a unique treat to have such a tasty salad with fresh lettuce, sunflower and pumpkin seeds and a delicious lemon vinaigrette!
I probably wouldn't return for the empanadas, but I would come back for that salad and to try their pizza! I also want to mention that the service was perfect. Thank you for making my afternoon better!
Read morePizza is terrible. Wayyyy too much crust & not crispy at all. No flavor. We ordered the small pizza. The waiter messed up the order and brought a large. We thought it was a bit strange and didn’t look right, but just assumed that that was the size. When we told them at the end, the “manager” refused to correct the bill argued and argued. Terrible food horrible service do not go here. Part of a ridiculous restaurant group that keeps acquiring more and more places, but have no idea what is going on with the daily operations of this place or some of their other...
Read moreWe came here on a food tour. This was our first stop and made a great impression on us of Buenos Aires’ pizza scene. The crust was perfect. Somewhere between fluffy and crunchy. And the cheese topping was such a wonderful melange and paired beautifully with the onions. Normally I’m not a huge fan of white pizzas, because they’re overloaded with cheese and end up feeling heavy, but not here! This was a beautiful slice of pizza.
We also had some beef empanadas, which were very good, but I would come back tomorrow for that...
