Puerto Cristal — Restaurant in Autonomous City of Buenos Aires

Four of us had a delightful lunch in Puerto Cristal's "sunroom" with its beautiful viewl overlooking the Puerto Madero Channel with the Puente de Mujer in the distance. We started with a proveleta, which we all agreed was as good as any we've had in Argentina, and a very nice veal carpaccio with parmesan an arugula. Two of us had the ribeye (ojo de bife) that they said was better than the one they had at La Brigata the night before. In fact, here they perform the same cutting-it-with-a-spoon shtick that La Brigata is known for. I had the sole, and my wife had the haddock. Both were delicious. The haddock came in balsamic vinegar sauce, extra virgin olive oil, capers, green greens, and mushrooms with squid ink rice, vegetable block and provoleta. The sole in cream of leeks, shrimp and mushrooms with four-cheese cauliflower pudding. We paired all this with an inexpensive bottle of Mendoza sparkling wine. Service was elegant, but slow... no matter since we had more time to enjoy the lovely views....

Sorry but I have to give this place only 2 stars. We came in just to have a light diner paired with some wine. We order the antologia Del Mar, a cold sea food platter for two. The sea food was definitely missing a chefs touch and felt and tasted as if the pieces were just taken out of their plastic sealings from the supermarket (probably they were). The advertised red and black caviar were definitely fake. Trust me I have been in Russia many times and I know what real caviar is.

Service was regular but a bit under attentive with long wait times, e.g. for paying the bill, something I really don’t like.

The restaurant is located at the river with many other bars and eating places. The whole area felt a bit like a tourist trap, I do not recommend to eat out there if you are looking for good price- quality and...

overrated place by reviews. salad with greens without anything costs 4400 peso) dishes brought warm, not hot. when I asked the question, “where is the food already?”, they answered me calmly, “so everything is ready already, one minute” - the actually prepared food was already standing, so it was cold. the bread on the starters is dry and old. the meat is delicious. but there are more worthy places in the area and, surprisingly, the check is lower. It is not clear what the price is tied to and so many reviews. the bill also carried infinity. but when they brought it, everything became clear: the service fee is already included...
