The New Brighton — Restaurant in Autonomous City of Buenos Aires

What an experience!! My husband and I stumbled upon this restaurant looking for somewhere for dinner. I am absolutely blown away with the service and live performance .

Every member of the staff was very patient and kind. We are American so we speak very little Spanish thus had to rely on our dialog app and everyone made us feel welcomed. The hostess- I think her name was nue was very kind and guided us to our table right near center stage.

Our server Andre’s was able to guide us in English and basically picked our entrees for us. The food was INCREDIBLE, phenomenal recommendations. Andres also helped us pick a wonderful wine to pair.

The performance was…. AMAZING. I hate that I didn’t get the name of the singer or the band members but they are all so talented!! The singer I swear is related to frank Sinatra . Beautiful voice!

All and all my husband and I had the best night of our whole trip. We will be back...

Beautiful old classic bar and restaurant, very well made dry martinis albeit from a very limited choice of spirits, food absolutely disgusting. My osobuco hard, barely warmed up on very old rice. My wife's filet steak, hard tasteless and probably not filet, though our dog appreciated it later. A relatively new owner, who has kept or restored the decor to tip top condition but according to the manager (who didn't seem to care) just accepts the kitchen is sub standard. While this is possibly the worst meal I have had in 15 years living in Buenos Aires ( and I deliberately chose osobuco as it is made with the cheapest cut of meat and only requires good cooking in cheap wine to be delicious, so no inflation excuses) this is definitely a restaurant for fans of Gordon Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares. I reckon with a small investment and an innovative chef this could become a venue restaurant. Someone...

Unfortunately we did not experience the good that the other experienced. We made an online reservation but was ignored. It took some fuss and ecplanation to get a table - possibly we were too early. Advice is just to walk in if you intend to come here. We got a table anyway, the Salad we ordered was so bland - the roasted vegetable was like leftover, the steak and chicken was so very dry that they were not cooked for passion. The interior is nice if one enjoys old world charm but our experience showed that if you are looking for good food, don’t waste your time here. At least not the chicken and the steak....
