Dined here today and overall, I was very disappointed with the service, food and cleanliness.
Service: we didn’t have a booking but asked for something inside. We were offered a table outside and asked if we could have the shade. Granted there wasn’t a table in the shade but the waitress handled the situation poorly before suggesting (when we were about to walk away) that the umbrella could be opened. The table was unclean and the waitress did not clean it before seating us so I went and asked another waitress for something to clean our table with to which she responded asking if I had been seated and if I had then the table would be clean. I stated that I had been seated and I would like something to clean it with. This was all whilst the waitress was fixing her hair behind the counter. When it came to ordering, the experience was pleasant and quick. However, when we asked for some table water, the base of the water bottle was unclean and marked the table with brown residue. Further, after our meals were delivered we didn’t receive cutlery. We waited for some cutlery thinking that the waiter was going inside to grab some for us. However, he didn’t and I went inside to ask for some to be met with a further question as to whether I had already ordered. The theme was each time I made a reasonable request of something basic that is expected of a respectable hospitality establishment, I was met with a combative response.
Food: We ordered the SMAVO. Overall, not much can fail here albeit the serving size was small. We also ordered the Chickie Burger, which was served on a rectangular plate making it difficult to cut given the limited room (it would have been better on a round plate). Also, the burger was served on sauce, so picking it up made it...

Food: Probably the worst part, sourdough and fruit toast which attracted a premium price, seemed to potentially be a frozen bread and definitely not fresh. Fruit toast was no more special than what you could buy from a supermarket. The whipped avocado sounds betters than it is. It came out as a liquid spread like substance, with some other chutney and toppings on top. Definitely not worth the money paid.
Coffee: Speed was good, coffee was fine. Met expectations.
Service: Good wait staff, but ordering is a bit of an experience. Have to line up with everyone else getting take away coffees, even if you’re dining in. There’s no table numbers, so it’s hard to identify where you are sitting (they don’t give you a number to take with you either). Had a problem ordering as there seemed to be a mismatch with the options on their system, and what was on the menu.
Atmosphere: Overall quite good, mostly due to the quantity of loyal patrons coming back. If they continue on this path I’m some people (including me) won’t be coming back, so atmosphere will drop off.
Final thoughts: Won’t be coming back, and don’t recommend. There seems to be a few easy wins the cafe can implement to start to at least meet expectations. Food needs to be reviewed first in my opinion. They have a prime location, but need to raise their own bar to meet the standards that the...
