We ordered a feast, and all we received was disappointment and bad service, and a potential health issue! My aunty went here regularly so we thought we'd have a family birthday celebration with In Thai upon her recommendation. She spoke to the owners prior and they recommended she preorder the large order (over $300 worth!!) and they'd have it ready at a certain time, they only live a few mins from the restaurant so it's always hot. But upon opening the containers, there was instant disappointment. They were not full like usual, the sauces were so watery and therefore lacked flavour, and there was barely any meat or chicken in them at all. No exaggeration. They were mostly just filled (but still not full!) with cabbage and onion. Even a vegetarian would be unhappy with the tasteless dishes. My young son chose noodles with chicken...simple right? It came with beef in it and minimal chicken again. He can't eat beef due to medical reasons and he's only young so you try explain it to him, this was so disappointing and could've made him sick if we didn't notice it first. My aunty went into the restaurant to share her disappointment only to be told the usual chefs were at a wedding that night, and they'd get the manager to call her. They didn't call. After a couple of attempts my aunty finally spoke to her and this is where the bad service came in. She was rude, dismissive, had no accountability or empathy whatsoever. Didn't even care about my sons meal being messed up other than it should have cost more if it had beef in it, no concern at all. Seriously, that's your response after spending over $300?! After my aunty being a loyal customer and spending so much money on this one night alone, to receive such poor, dismissive, uncaring service after a very disappointing, tasteless meal was the icing on the cake. And were told to come in that day and place the order and pay for it to be ready at 5.30pm.which we did and paid $330.00. We collected the order on the night. The children’s noodle dish was meant to be chicken they put chicken and beef. Which he can’t eat red meat. And most of the dishes were full of cabbage and onion with nearly NO protein AT ALL. The dishes were all watery and very disappointing. I went in the next day to let them know. They said they couldn’t help me as the owner wasn’t there and there normal cooks were at a wedding. I waited a couple of days and still no one called. I called to speak to the owner. She was more concerned I got 2 types of protein in the child’s noodles and that’s extra. Didn’t care about the health issues we could have encountered if he ate the beef. And that I heated up the meals they were watery. I tired to explain I did not. We ate as soon as the food was picked up and we live 2 mins away. She said she will call back and still nothing. Disgusting food and service. $330.00 spent and I kept apologising to everyone and I was totally embarrassed. They took no responsibility at all and to make things worse a child could have gotten so sick if I didn’t pour it out in his bowl. Read moreThursday the 2nd Jan 2025, walked in off the street and asked for a table outside for 9 people tomorrow night (Friday). We arrived at 6.30 as booked, and there was no table. A table was then arranged for us which was great. Within 5 mins of sitting down, I presume was the manager, approached us and explained that they had given us someone else's table, as the restaurant had booked ours for the 10th Jan. He then made the reference that we should leave otherwise he needs to turn the other party away. At this point I became a little taken back and replied "how was this a us problem when the restaurant made the mistake with the date". He then walked off laughing arrogantly. The staff eventually worked out a solution to accommodate both parties. Great effort of the young staff. Yes it was busy, over 50 mins to order and approximately 8pm before we had our entrees. Missed entrees, missed drinks also happened. Unfortunately we didn't see the Manager again all night, then we were charged table water at $ 7.50 per bottle. The staff explained that the water was Distilled water so we have been charge.( We did order other drinks) We specifically requested Table water.... They in the end removed the water charge after we challenged it. Well what else could I say. Thanks to some of the staff, but unfortunately we will not visit In Thai again.
