My husband and I had one of the most disappointing dining experiences we’ve ever had. Upon arriving, we were greeted by an employee leaving, who unceremoniously barged past us without even a polite word or gesture, forcing us to hold the door open for them. As we entered the reception area, the welcome felt incredibly superficial, leaving us uncomfortable and dissatisfied from the start.
Despite this, we hoped that the restaurant’s impressive social media campaigns were a true reflection of their quality, so we decided to stay and order our meals. Unfortunately, the service only worsened. The waitstaff seemed unequipped for a hospitality role, with poor communication and no warmth in their interactions.
When our food arrived, we were disappointed by the ‘patates,’ which turned out to be nothing more than chips—an incredibly misleading description. We ordered the octopus and lamb sausages as entrees, both of which were overcooked and thus flavourless. For our mains, we chose the chicken and lamb kontosouvli. For $36 and $38, we received two incredibly overcooked and flavourless skewers each.
By this point, we were starving, having not eaten since 10 a.m., so we tried to push through. When the waitstaff asked how our meals were, we provided honest feedback, only to be met with a half-hearted apology and the promise that our comments would be passed on to the kitchen. Shortly after, another staff member asked the same question and gave us a similar response.
As we paid the bill and were about to leave, the receptionist asked about our experience. She seemed genuinely surprised that no one had passed our feedback along and offered an apology, as well as a discount for a future visit. However, no mention was made of a refund for the poor experience we had just had. Rather than returning to Ammos, which we’ve both agreed we won’t do, we left feeling incredibly disappointed and unsatisfied with...

In light of of some people who had the audacity to complain about the service regarding Martha’s Birthday party on the 11/11/23 Saturday night the Manager of Ammos was very kind enough to dish out 7 meat platters , he also through in the 10 cheese saganaki dishes all for free to make the Birthday Girl as happy as possible for her and these certain people had the nerve to complain … then someone rearranged a certain table to be connected to theirs to suit their own needs for their friends and it all on CCTV , and there were also people who ordered drinks from Martha’s party they drank up wine nicely and never paid for what they drank , they know who they are how disgustingly rude , and certain people had the audacity to complain about the price of the set menu they had to pay for HOW RUDE and they knew the price of the set menu before hand . They ate very well though with meat platters salads delivered to their tables mind you the meat platters were on the house for free . It was a packed house waiters and kitchen staff were under the pump big time , and if we waited that bit longer it’s gonna be expected.. In the end of night , the Manager dished out 800 dollars of meat platters and salads and saganaki dishes for free !!! , and you you have these certain people who had the audacity to complain, they should hold their heads in shame , and that’s the thanks he got . The Manager went out and beyond to take care of the people who were invited to this Birthday. I have a very high regard of Ammos the restaurant. The kitchen staff and the floor staff are absolutely amazing!!! Well done to everyone Bravo to everyone!!!...
Read moreWe were 3 people and as soon as we sat down without even looking at the menu the waiter told us to order the dips and mixed platter, we said yes as we'd never been there before. Firstly it was a lot of food - too much for 3 people, secondly $90 per person for food is definitely not a normal amount and we should have been given the chance to look at a menu first. We would have been better off ordering what we wanted off the menu. When we received the platter one of us ate 1 prawn and had to spit it out, it was off! You could smell it was off without tasting. We nicely told the waiter and said don't take our word for it, please try it yourself. He took it to the kitchen and the chef apparently tried it and the waiter came back and said sorry and he said he would 'sort it out'. He never came back with what he was doing to sort it out and then when we went to pay they charged us in full, even though they'd taken away the 2 prawn skewers which is the most expensive thing on the platter and didn't replace it with anything. We thought when they didn't bring us either more Prawns which weren't off or a dessert or something for free as a sorry, we thought his 'sorting it out' must have meant they'd discounted the platter, nope, nothing, clearly they don't care about making people sick or about getting returning customers. I would definitely never recommend. We actually told you to try and help you not make someone else sick. Absolutely...
