Read moreI went to the Ed Sheeran concert. He was absolutely brilliant & the venue and acoustic were great. HOWEVER if you have a mobility disability it’s disgusting. I booked my tickets 12 months before and I booked tickets on floor level. Unfortunately I’d had several major surgeries one being fractures ankle, which needed me to walk with the aid of a 4 wheel walker.
I arrived a least an hour before Ed Sheeran was due on. I spent the whole hour trying to find access to floor level unsuccessful as everywhere had tiered steps. Each time I asked how I could get access they didn’t know and kept sending me to another person!
By this time my patience had run out and demanded to see a manager, the young lad I spoke to was very empathetic but the manager wasn’t available! Eventually an older employer came carried my walker & held my hand until he located my seat. It was 1 minute before Ed Sheeran came on. So I also missed the 2nd supporting act.
I had the same problems trying to leave the venue and by then it was pouring with rain. I saw people in wheelchairs who’s carers we’re literally dragging them backwards up the stairs.
I checked the information for the Oval for people with disabilities & it advised that it was well catered for people with disabilities on all levels.
Something needs to be done about this. There should be at the very least signage advising where to go and extra information written about how you access FLOOR LEVEL when there are concerts.
Shame on you for discriminating against those with disabilities, mine is not permanent. We should all be entitled to access the best seats available regardless.
I went to concert by myself and I paid a lot of money for my ticket. It was very nerve racking just walking with my walker amongst the crowds but to have to do this for an hour with a fractured ankle, that instead of being excited, I was a nervous wreck in so much pain and very upset.
So if your due to attend a concert or thinking of going…….PLEASE if you have mobility disabilities ring to check before you purchase your tickets on how you access floor level.
Dispute my challenge I enjoyed Ed Sheeran he is truly amazing and such a...
