My groups always receives wrong orders, tonight they gave my order to someone else, and refused to prepare another one for me.
At a certain point they said: When you place an order you need to pay attention to the delivery. We gave your order to someone else. you need to check the tables on the restaurant to see who got it, and get it back yourself.
I have never seen that procedure in my life.
After arguing with 4 different staff members, they agreed to give me my coke and my mint soda
Suggestion to the managers:
As of now, when an order gets ready, the waiter picks your order, then shouts in the restaurant (70-100 people listening), for example: “Regular schnitzel!!”, whoever says “it’s me!” first, gets the order
The number on the table means nothing, they don’t use it to identify the orders
And this, naturally leads to issues.
We visited da vinci 3x with our church group (40-60 people), on all visits we had issues.
This would be a much better procedure: -Include the table number on all printed receipts
-Print an extra order receipt to the waiter
-Waiter collects the order, alongside the printed receipt, and deliver the order to the table that matches both the number on the receipt AND the person’s name
For example, the waiter would look to the paper receipt and see “table 12, victor”, then the waiter picks the order, go to table 12 and say “Victor?”, “Regular schnitzel.”
Much more organised .
This is the standard procedure in many restaurants, and for a reason, to avoid chaos
Imagine mc donalds shouting every order: “Who ordered a big mac?”, without checking order number, without checking table numbers
literally anyone could have ordered it. the same applies to coke, schnitzel, etc
the current system is unreliable and makes da vinci staff very stressed out, as they are unable to deliver the orders and lose a lot of time walking back and forth to fix wrong orders
During my last dinner at da vinci, they offered me at least 3 extra main dishes that were not mine. It clearly shows they don’t use the table numbers for identification of orders. we were not waiting for anything.
The worst part is for sure the fact that they make mistakes and get annoyed at us, you can easily tell by their faces (most of the staff don’t smile and don’t try to be nice), even if they are wrong. bad attitude, wrong orders, missing orders, long waiting time for preparing your food. So the service is 1 star at best.
We will continue to come back, the food is really good.. easily my favorite italian restaurant.
but our group would appreciate more...
Read moreI went in for lunch and ordered a cheese and avocado focaccia. The waitress then brought me a chicken, lettuce, avocado and cheese focaccia. I said that this isn't what I ordered. She asked if I was sure and I said I was positive as I don't eat meat, so she took it back to the kitchen and quickly presented me with what can only be described as uncooked bread and avocado pureed like baby food. The avocado was like it had come out of a tube, it was green/brown and had big chunks of what looked like chicken (?) mixed into it, leading me to wonder if they had just scraped the chicken and lettuce off the last one and brought it back out. It also cost me $24 which is absolutely outrageous for undercooked bread. pureed avocado and a cheese slice. I ate three bites as I was starving, but it tasted awful so I took it back to the counter. The woman then berated me for eating a quarter of it, and said I should have brought it straight back if I wasn't happy. I then advised her that I had already had the wrong meal brought to me and by the time I received this one I was hungry and my lunch break was over. I then showed her the big piece of who knows what that I had pulled out of my food and asked for a refund. She then tried to tell me it was a piece of avocado. She was not happy and was quite rude. Had she been gracious and apologised I would have accepted the incident as a bad experience and possibly come back another time, but she was very sullen and not happy at all. She gave me my money but I will not ever...
Read moreFood was generous and nice. I had the massive Yiros schnitzel which was delicious and my wife had the Surf and Turf which was equally impressive. However... Service was poor. The restaurant was empty when we arrived and our greeting was poor at best. We asked to swap seats as the booth seat in the corner was broken and the seat had sunk. We ordered and once our food arrived that was the last we saw of anyone. Points that might help your business. -warm greeting, say hello to kids as they generate money in drinks and desserts. -Find out if its an occasion. Our visit was for my Birthday and I would have had coffees and desert but you never asked so I went elsewhere and spent another $60 in someone else's business. -Watch our drinks. Your Wine was nice and I would have bought another glass or bottle if you asked me if I wanted another. If you asked the occasion and I said it was my Birthday you could have probally upsold me something fancy or maybe cocktails. -Clear our plates while we are seated and ask us how our meal was and then upsell extras. You were not busy and this would have been easy sales. When we left nobody even acknowledged our visit even though we walked past team members. There are plenty of places to dine in North Adelaide and even though I enjoyed your food I thought your service was poor. As establishing and running a restaurant is expensive I thought I'd share my thoughts in hope you review this area of your...
