What an awkward experience. I came for dinner and had a red snapper fish special that wasn't bad; the plating looked great and there were interesting flavor combinations. Also can't beat the location, especially right at sunset. But, I want very impressed by the service.
I walked in alone and, after a few moments standing there, ended up accidentally asking another guest standing nearby about getting a table. The front-of-house wasn't paying attention and the guest looked more dressed for the part! Whoops. An older woman who was working on a laptop next to the door (and totally looking like a guest) asked "Can I help you?" as if I'd interrupted her. I asked for a table. The younger waitress was polite, but the older woman took some time getting me the menu, coming back or even looking my way when I had a question (you can't see the specials board if you're seated along the windows), and sent the younger woman to read the specials to me.
I ordered, ate, and finished up my meal, and the younger woman said to let her know if I'd like a coffee or tea. Then, she walked into an alcove with the older woman and someone from back-of-house too sample food and check out her phone. The older woman was drinking some wine and the group was pretty chatty with their backs to the dining area. I was ready to order dessert or a drink, but there was no one left in the front of house and there weren't so much as backwards glances from the staff. I had to flag one of them down about 5 minutes later to get the bill, as I wasn't told about any of the dessert options, brought a menu, etc. and didn't want to have more delays asking for more.
That all sounds rather uppity, and I don't care if phones are out during true downtime, but at least glance at your diners because I was trying to shoot "I am ready to go!" eyes at the staff any time they looked like they'd be looking my way soon. In that wait, I also noticed a marquee-style sign with "Customer Service is Key" in the bar area and had a chuckle to myself. But, at least Royal Copenhagen is nearby and open late, so I still managed to...
Read moreOur relaxing Sunday breakfast experience was ruined within seconds of being seated.
Unfortunately, this is the second time my partner and I have had an issue with the blonde senior waitress while attempting to order breakfast. Upon our 11:45am arrival, my partner already knew what she wanted and attempted to order the eggs benedict, before being scoffed at by the waitress that it was close to cut-off. I wasn't as certain with what I was wanting so requested a menu to make a decision but was rudely told 'well, you both need to order from the same menu' which left me confused and pressured into ordering the same meal as my partner without even being able to see a breakfast or lunch menu.
The food has always been good and that's the only reason we were optimistic with giving the benefit of the doubt to the venue with a second chance, but unfortunately life's too short to put up with disgusting customer service like we experienced today.
Management really needs to address this issue before...

We went to Brighton Food and Wine and the only word to describe it from start to finish was a schmozzle.
After being seated inside we were asked to move outside, we were then sat at a camping table (I kid you not). When asked for blankets / a heater to keep warm (we weren’t seated until 8:45pm) we were then given scarves and Shawls clearly from someone’s wardrobe to wrap up in.
We were served guacamole on garlic bread (what the guac, for reals??) followed by warm chicken. After being advertised for a $90 set menu, we were charged $103 on the bill which turned out to be a public holiday surcharge. After clearly stating they were false advertising they reluctantly reduced the bill back to $90 per person.
Extremely disappointing, poor service, clearly over extended themselves and thought they could handle being open to NYE whe. Clearly they should have shut shop and not delivered a...
