While the place looks nice due to the recent re-fit the service is now terrible. I had to walk to 3 different areas to order coffee (hot chocolate) and cake. I walked inside, figuring that the queue inside was to serve those tables and then the queue outside would deal with the outside tables. I stood in line for ages only to be told that I had to go outside to order the hot chocolates. I walked back outside and while I could order hot chocolate there I was told that I had to go back inside to order cake? I can't understand why, it's not like either person serving was part of the wait staff? The person making the hot chocolates forgot which table I'd said and what I'd ordered 3 times, and when they did finally bring them out both the barista and waiter came and found me in the other queue so they could ask what table I was at? Apparently the 3 other times that I'd told her weren't enough? Then, when we finally got them, they were both stone cold. After ordering the hot chocolates I'd walked back inside, the next counter in was an ice cream area but was right next to the cake so I figured that I could order there. Apparently I was wrong, and even though the server had ignored me for ages and wasn't doing anything anyway I still had to go back to the first counter to order cake? I walked down to the bottom of the counter to order cake. I had to repeat the order twice to the server, and paid, I was then told that I had to go back to where the cakes were , about 3 feet to my right and wait for someone else to come out and serve me? I walked over to where the cakes were and waited for a bit until someone finally arrived. I had to tell her 4 times what I wanted because she didn't bother to listen and after all one of the cakes was wrong anyway. I shouldn't have to pace up and down a cafe and constantly repeat my order to get service that's so bad it's a joke. ...
Read moreMy dining experience at Cafe Brunelli on Saturday afternoon 27/9/2025 was most memorable and absolutely fabulous…I invited my aging mother whose special needs were sensitively and gently met with attention to dignified service that flattered and satisfied her despite her special condition.
Her order of garlic prawns pleased and delighted her… this contributed tremendously to her clearly visibly apparent feeling and behaving in a settled and peaceful manner…embracing the warm…gently lit and joyful background music in the inviting and friendly ambiance.
My order of a triple serve of mixed vegetables of corn on the cob…broccolini…carrot… mushroom…broccoli and roasted almond shaves on top of long French beans was extremely generous and piping hot served in black earthenware bowls.
My mother’s generous serve of garlic prawns…various vegetables and rice were also served on black earthenware.
In addition I ordered her a bowl of mixed vegetables so she could take them home for another meal.
I also left with a take away container of the absolutely delicious…perfectly prepared crisp vegetables.
I also frequently enjoy coffee at Cafe Brunelli and a previous dining experience with my mother of garlic prawns was of equal quality.
Divesh…the amazing team leader…and his wonderful team served extremely attentively and honourably…they made our experience many times more relaxing and rejuvenating.
We met at an off peak time of 3 pm… and so a window of less busyness enabled the enthusiastic staff to provide service that far exceeded my expectations.
Cafe Brunelli is a most stellar choice of dining or to enjoy a simple coffee in a space of peaceful retreat from a busy day of commitments.
My heartfelt gratitude to all involved including the very talented and creative...
Read moreI used to come to Brunellis on Rundle St almost every morning for a coffee… but the last time I came I swore I’d never be back. I ordered an iced latte and the barista made a hot latte by accident (which was fine, I understand mistakes happen), but he then argued with me that I had ordered a hot latte when I kindly said it was as meant to be iced. Then, the staff member who took my order stepped in and said it was his mistake and that I did order an iced latte, and the barista threw the hot coffee behind him and swore as he re-made the correct order. I was mortified that a worker would ever speak to a customer like that, especially for a mistake that wasn’t even the customer’s fault!
Then today, I went for a work lunch (not my choice considering my last experience)… my colleague ordered a prosciutto pizza and out came a pepperoni pizza (again, I understand mistakes can happen, which isn’t a problem). My colleague kindly notified the waiter that she had actually ordered a prosciutto pizza, so he took it back to the kitchen, and instead of making the correct pizza, they put some cold prosciutto on top of the pepperoni pizza, and brought the same pizza back out! They didn’t even bother to remove the pepperoni, heat up the prosciutto or chuck a handful of rocket on top which the prosciutto pizza was meant to include according to the menu - you’d think you’d at least make it look like you tried to do the right thing by your customer lol. How lazy and rude can staff be!!!
If I could rate 0 stars I would. Can’t believe this business is...
