At first we were happy, no one wants their nights to be ruined after a good time at fringe. We sat down being welcomed by the waiting staff and ordered some food and drink, then we started waiting, endless waiting. We were served with a soup (the soup was nice) and then were tatolly ignored by the staffs, we asked 3 times for our main course, every time the waitress said, oh yeah it's coming, and we kept on waiting. Customers who came after us had finished their dishes, plus second round of drinks, gone; another table of customers came in and ordered, then had finished their food; almost like everyone has left and we were still waiting, I think their crocodiles must be super fresh because I guess the chef were catching them from the river. I don't mind to wait, especially when there's fringe and they are super busy, but we asked three times for our dishes!!! Three times, and we waited for 1 hour. When dishes were finally delivered to hour table, the guy left them with no cutleries and napkins, expecting us to have them with our...

I went to have dinner with friends on Saturday night on the last weekend of Fringe. I completely understand it was busier than usual and some delays were expected. However, the waiters were not particularly focused and would bring water but no cups, or food but no cutlery. We ordered an entree and three main dishes. The entree was served relatively quickly and then one main. My friend waited for a while to start eating but we told them to eat before it got cold. Long story short, we waited over an hour to get the other two mains and these were not served at the same time either. Many people were upset and I saw at least one couple who left without eating and we were about to do the same after asking four times for our pending food. In the end, the staff was unapologetic and limited to say it was busy. The food was good but a bad experience overall. I'm definitely not going back and would not recommend it if you don't have 2 or 2.5...

I was pleasantly surprised that they had a table available for six as I only booked a couple of hours prior. We ordered the banquet. The food was delicious and prompt in coming out to the table.

The service however marred our experience hence the rating. The two-service staff that were on shift that evening require further training in both customer service and table waiting processes.

We ordered a bottle of bubbly to celebrate an occasion. Instead of pouring adequate amount for each glass so everyone got to toast, glasses were filled to brim and consequently one person missed out which deflated our celebratory toasting experience. It was also not a good look for staff in between service to be sitting down in full view of patrons checking their mobiles.

Where feedback is taken on board and staff up-skilled, I feel think this is a lovely dining spot for a...

I have walked past many times here in a busy St of Rundle. This Restaurant has been here since 1986 apparently. The atmosphere caught my attention with the vibrant bright orange walls and traditional thai decor, although i know this place isn't up to date but you can tell it's been here for a long time. They do have big space for seating inside and outdoors. There has been lots of customers coming here during lunch and dinner and it seems to be very popular. My all time favourite special dish was the pineapple Fried rice with chicken has so many flavours in this dish and the second fave was their seafood Pad Thai, it was just cooked perfectly fine, not drenched with too much Fish sauce unlike other places. They do have vegetarian options. Great staff and friendly.

{@imhungrymax} We had a lovely lunch at Cafe Michael 2 yesterday! This restaurant is a staple of Rundle Street, and conveniently located closer to the Rundle Mall end. We had chicken satay and vegetable spring rolls for starters, both of which were flavourful and a great way to start the meal. Hubby really enjoyed the Prawn Laksa, and we also tried the Pork Phad Thai {so good!} and the Chicken Honey Sweet Chilli Stirfry, which had such a yummy flavour combination. Staff were attentive and friendly and the dishes came out quite quickly. A fantastic experience!

A classic Rundle St gem! Cafe Michael 2 has a cosy atmosphere and great service. Food came out promptly with a good range options on offer. We especially enjoyed the pineapple fried rice, red duck curry, crispy chicken wings, khao soi, and basil chicken — all full of flavour! It’s a long-standing venue that’s consistently solid — I even celebrated my uni graduation here back in the days. Highly recommend for a solid meal!
