EDIT: Review changed to 1 star for blatantly FAKE REVIEWS. If you look at the reviews for "Zoey Dress store in SanlĂșcar de Barrameda, Spain", it shares 4 common reviewers (giving 5 stars, some of them in Spanish) with Chunky Obba Gogi. Unless you're telling me that 4 people who only love giving 5 star reviews decided to leave a review for Chunky Obba Gogi AND a clothes shop in Spain in the last week coincidentally...đŸ€” One of their reviewers also had multiple reviews in different countries (Green Wallingford). I tried posting images as proof but Google removed my review when I tried 😑 Disappointing experience. Spent $88 for one of the meal set - meat and noodles are decent, the lettuce for ssam looked dirty (see photo). No small side dishes (kimchi, pickled radish, etc) that you would get at other KBBQ places. The sesame salt sauce was undersalted. Rice I ordered was dry. Wait staff never got us table water. We were offered to exchange our 2 ice creams for 2 sodas but when asked if we could have one ice cream and one soda we were told this was tol confusing??? Wait staff looked mostly unapproachable except for one person. They seem to have at least increased their portions of the marinated crab somewhat though looking at older reviews. The meal set at my usual KBBQ place costs $15 less with more side dishes, comparable meat and much better service. Also wanted to mention that it's blatantly obvious that they're buying 5 star reviews. So many of the 5 star reviews are people with restricted profiles or single reviews which is very suspicious.

The bbq leaked oil onto my shoes, the table in a certain area was so hot it was a safety issue and midway through cooking the gas ran out. The staff were polite enough but one was exceptionally rude when I asked what to do with the lettuce and they they replyed "you eat it". Obviously, but how. Then they said we wrap our meat in it. Not every bbq place I've been to does this. So I felt very taken aback by the attitude. The cuts of meat were chewy and for the price point I really expected more. Very over priced and below average experience. I won't be coming back. Edit - reply to owner: ‱ If you knew there was a fan there, it would have been nice to have been instructed to stay away from it. ‱ I had to alert the staff that the bbq was not working, despite them being aware the gas canister was clearly nearly empty. This should have been noted to us or they should of checked on it more often. What if as a customer, at a first time bbq, I was not aware? Not good enough. ‱ to not take full responsibility of the fact one of your staff was rude and it was offensive - aswell as, I can see in other reviews people have had the same issue is poor form. ‱ don't reply at all to customer feedback if you have no solutions or helpful comments.

Absolutely loved my visit to Chunky Obba Gogi in Adelaide! 🌟 The decor is a perfect fresh take on modern and Korean elements, making it a great spot for both casual hangouts and special occasions. Now, let's talk about the food—Every dish creates an authentic Korean barbecue feel that's both rich and satisfying. The variety is impressive, catering to both meat lovers and vegetarians. The pork jowl was a personal favorite, tender and high quality, while the beef cuts were also fantastic along with the spicy crab and kimchi soup full of flavour đŸ˜‹đŸ”„ What truly stands out is the quality of the ingredients. You can taste the freshness in every bite, from the succulent meats to the crisp vegetables đŸ„©đŸ„—. The staff at Chunky Obba Gogi are attentive and friendly, making the experience even more enjoyable 😊. The service is prompt, ensuring that you never have to wait long to dive into your delicious meal đŸœïž. In summary, Chunky Obba Gogi in Adelaide is another must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy top-notch Korean barbecue. The combination of fantastic food, welcoming atmosphere, and excellent service makes it another standout choice in the city 🌆. Can't wait to go back and try more of their delicious offerings! 🎉

Poor service and communication from the staff. The honeycomb makgeolli did not have a honeycomb in it even though other photos posted here show it should have and a friend that visited earlier confirmed his came with one. The $26 crab was incredibly overpriced for the tiny portion that arrived. The silky egg custard was basically scrambled egg in a clay pot with no flavour. The staff started to clear our plates when we weren’t even finished yet and rudely told us to “come up and pay the bill”. We ordered 3 sets and so were expecting 6 ice creams at the end of our meal and asked for these to which the same staff responded they don’t have any but they’re giving us the soft drinks for free instead. This was NEVER communicated at the start when we ordered and only mentioned AFTER they told us to pay. We should have received 6 drinks for free but were still charged for 2 even after trying to dispute with the staff but not sure if they understood and the situation was frustrating enough already so we regrettably paid anyway. Whilst the food itself was not the worst, it certainly wasn’t good enough for us to ignore the horrible service we received. If you don’t have items available when the menu clearly states it should have it, it is the restaurant’s responsibility to inform their patrons when ordering. And certainly, do not rush us when our table wasn’t even available until 15 minutes after we arrived to our booking on time. Once the hype of a “new kbbq” dies down, this restaurant will definitely struggle to survive with this type of service and behaviour.

Reply to owner: We specifically ordered the honeycomb makgeolli so if you’d like to admit your staff processed our order wrong then go for it. If you’re charging full price for 3 sets yet did not have 6 items available from those sets, then yes, I consider that as charging us for items we did not receive. Not sure what is so hard to understand the fact that your staff did not have our table ready until 15 minutes after we arrived! It is extremely unprofessional to tell us to pay the bill when we weren’t done eating and you sat us down late. Please do better and train your staff to a...

I am so into korean bbq that I dine out regularly at different korean resto in Adelaide. But this one is so overpriced, in comparison with the other restaurants.. I ordered the 88$ set no.4 for 2 people tonight, what you really get is a platter of beef brisket slices, 3 slices of pork belly and 3 slices of marinated LA short beef ribs and a serve of cold noodle.. the staff didn’t inform us of the items that weren’t available tonight. They didn’t inform us that in lieu of rice they’re serving SSAM instead, which includes a very cute serving of few pieces of lettuce, 3 slices of carrots, 2 slices of mushroom and few onions.. .. I asked for the rice inclusion of the set meal, we were told they didn’t have enough rice in the kitchen tonight, but after few minutes I saw their chef bringing 4 bowls of rice that they offered the other table if they still it. They tried to offer us a platter of lettuce when we were already done eating..nothing left to devour đŸ€Ș.. At the end of the meal we expected to receive 2 ice creams, and were just told “ sorry no more ice cream tonight, just get some drinks” The staff were not communicating well with their customers & their kitchen staff and they’re running around like headless chickens.. the cashier was apologetic of my feedback but can’t move on with what we were served tonight.. total of $110 for 2 persons.. i was so excited to try their food but just ended up disheartened.. always make sure to check your bill, i was told my total was 120$ but when i asked staff to double check it was only 112$, well.. well, very apologetic cashier again and again and she generously gave me a 2$ discount off my bill because I was upset with their service and portion of the food.. haha!! I wish it was good for it’s price but sadly my heart sank tonight .. could’ve been a better experience & should’ve satisfied my craving.. but ohh well.. came home still...
