Please don’t waste your time or money visiting Coast. The only positive that has come from our experience at this restaurant was the view of the ocean. The staff were extremely rude and disrespectful, especially the older lady. Attitude, eye rolls, arms thrown up in the air in aggression and head shakes. I’ve never experienced such horrible service. The service was very slow taking over an hour for main meals and cocktails to be put on the table. The food was terrible and our steaks being ordered Medium Rare came out raw and blue. When mentioned to the waitress (the older lady) she spoke with aggression and threw her hands in the air indicating that it was not her problem and also went ahead to tell us that the steak was in fact cooked medium rare. Sorry but a blue bloody steak is definitely not medium rare and is raw. The chef offered to make us another round of steaks however we declined as we had lost our appetite at this point in time. The table was not cleared after entrees before main meals so the table was full of dirty dishes and empty glasses and after mentioning it to a waitress they picked up a few bowls and never returned for the rest. After many attempts to have the table cleared, my friend had to pick up the dirty dishes and glasses and transferred them to the empty table in front of us. The photos of the food on their Instagram page is definitely not what they serve up so please don’t be fooled. The prices are way overpriced for what it is. Coast is definitely trying to be classed as an upper class beachy restaurant however comparing coast to your local pub, the pub would be more upper class and I can almost guarantee you your food and service would be much better. The view is very beautiful, however it’s not worth the terrible experience. Very disappointing and I will sharing my experience with everyone to save others from having their night out...

Everything you are going to try to peg your self hatred on in here will gracefully give way, from the wonderful food to the equally wonderful staff.
If, on the other hand, you are the kind of person who finds that the smell of sea in the morning smells victory, gets your brain going on a cup of coffee and a plate of soothing something for your innards and get your kicks out of a nice smile or that pun about the colour of the sea and your partner's eyes, then, you are absolutely going to love this place.
Caught breakfast every morning here for a few days. I've seen sea before but this is ridiculous. The beach is hugging your view from left all the way to the left again, The sky rolls in the clouds and the tide brings in the seaweed that the dogs will have fun with on their day to capturing the elusive and ever entertaining, ball.
What can add to this? Coast. Coast can add to this, the coffee and the tastes and the comfy seats and the inside option when the wind just doesn't care. It is located on the right end of Glenelg beach (on the direction of looking out to the sea of course, where else were you looking?) and there is nothing else around it for hundreds of meters. Hey, not too busy and peaceful? I am in.
Life is too short for finding the Muesli half-soaked. Just eat the damn thing or, get one of the best eggs Benedict you might have sent down your mouth, I am not your mom...And if I was your mum, I wish we were...
Read moreDisappointing. Very noisy which did not afford a relaxing meal. Food was average and overpriced. Salmon for $35 had no crispy skin and was a very small serve with some watery sweet potato and a few beans. King prawn fettucine for $37 was the smallest pasta meal we have ever seen. A total of 4 medium sized prawns only. I felt ripped off. The $45 scotch fillet was ordered medium to well done. Another stingy small serve sent out that was as tough as nails. Not enjoyable at all. The green leaf salad came out with approximately 5 green bits of lettuce and the other 90% of the salad was large bits of sour hard crunchy raw red cabbage that was very unpalatable and unpleasant to taste. The service was gob smackingly absent. Staff appeared disinterested. The website states "a warm and friendly welcome awaits you". Yeah I don't think so. Not a smile in sight. Without our request during the meal the bill was placed in the middle of our table!!!! No consideration if we wanted coffee and dessert. I asked the waiter about this upon paying the bill and he insisted that my husband had asked for the bill. Yeah so not true. He asked how our meals were and when informing him they were ordinary he just said "ok no worries". No care factor. No interest. No generous portions of food where you can walk out feeling that was money well spent. No warm welcome. No friendliness. I hope other people have a really good experience if they attend this restaurant but from our family's point of it will be a no show ever again and no recommendation to anyone. Sorry Coast it's a thumbs...
