I can't stress enough how important it is to have your allergens clearly labled on your products and in the description!

I attended this establishment tonight with my partner and 2 of my friends. I chose out my ingredients and picked the collagen bone broth. Upon receiving my food I noticed what looked like peanut sauce on the top and around the edge of my bowl, i wasn't to sure but the sauce around the edge of the bowl looked exactly like the peanut sauce that my friends got form the little sauce bar. I have a nut allergy, and I chose what I thought was a nut free option as non of the signage or the description on the menu stated that it contains nuts. As I was unsure if this was peanut sauce I approached the staff who then asked the kitchen if the broth contained nuts, to my suprise it did. I was in absolute shock as I had eaten one rice cake that was sitting on top before I had even noticed. I started to panick, imagine having an allergic reaction 3 days before Christmas. Luckily the rice cake I ate must have not been submerged in the broth enough to be contaminated with the peanut sauce but imagine how much more serious this could have been if I didn't notice the sauce or had eaten more of my meal.

I understand that your signage says that the dishes "may contain nuts" and I took the risk that the dish may have had some sort of cross contamination. But this clearly had peanut sauce all over it which was not advertised, if you are to have allergens like nuts in your food it needs to be advertised as such with clear signage, if I did not notice the peanuts sauce on the side of my bowl I could have had a severe allergic reaction because I had full trust there was no nuts in a bone broth due to the signage and description.

The staff member was super helpful and sorted me out another meal, however if circumstances were different I would have eneded up in hospital,...

Recently, I decided to explore the culinary landscape of Adelaide's CBD and found myself at Dragon Hot Pot on Gouger Street. While this place boasts a wide range of ingredient and flavour options, it has room for improvements in certain areas.

Stepping into the restaurant, I was intrigued by its dragon-themed decor. However, the ambiance was somewhat marred by a lack of cleanliness, with old food remnants on the floor and tables, contributing to an overall feeling of untidiness.

The food at Dragon Hot Pot proved to be a mixed bag. The vast selection of ingredients was impressive, catering to various tastes and spice levels. Yet, the freshness of the ingredients was inconsistent, with some appearing a tad old. The lack of clear signage for the ingredients added an unnecessary layer of confusion to the otherwise exciting experience of hot pot dining.

On the service front, the staff was friendly, though not as attentive as one might hope. For example, we had to specifically request napkins, an essential item for a hot pot meal.

In terms of pricing, it was fairly average and acceptable for what was on offer.

However, a point of concern was the smoke from the staff smoking at the entrance wafting into the restaurant, compromising the dining experience.

Overall, I'd rate Dragon Hot Pot a 4.5 out of 10. The vast selection of ingredients and flavours is commendable, but improvements in cleanliness, staff attentiveness, and overall food freshness could elevate the dining experience significantly. I am unlikely to return or recommend this restaurant based on...

I recently ordered takeaway from Dragon Hotpot, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. I ordered two bowls of rice along with the mala spicy stir-fry. However, when I got home, I realized the rice was missing from the bag, which was frustrating given it was part of the order.

The mala spicy stir-fry itself was another letdown. It was overcooked to the point where there was a noticeable bitterness, likely from the blackened residue. The flavors, which are usually bold and exciting in mala dishes, were overshadowed by the unpleasant burnt taste.

For a restaurant known for its stir-fry, this was not the quality I expected. While the concept and selection are usually great, this experience fell far below expectations. I hope they pay more attention to the cooking process and ensure orders are packed correctly...

My family dines at dragon hotpot every few weeks, the service has always been fantastic, the owner always remembers us, greets my children and once even gave them toy dragons which they loved. The food is delicious, my two daughters love it, taking my youngest to eat dragon hotpot is by far the easiest way to get her to eat and she generally finishes multiple bowls! My eldest daughter says it’s her favourite place to eat. The huge array of produce is always fresh and the food service is fast! Great for groups of people who all want to eat individual meals and those that want to share! We have dined at many of the hot pot restaurants in Adelaide, China town & Mawson lakes and Dragon hot pot is by far the best and you don’t have line up to get a seat! Strongly recommend 10/10
