Grill'd Burgers - Tea Tree Plaza — Restaurant in Adelaide

I used to come here quite often, and I could always leave satisfied and full.. the quality at the time was on point and portion sizes were generous. However, after coming back craving for grilld, I was left quite disappointed. The portion sizes seem relatively small for the amount we were given and service (estimating 7 minutes for it to finish, took a lot longer than expected. I understand that it mightve been busy, but there was a long period where my mother and I observed no servers out to deliver the already ready food.) Besides that, the food cannot disappoint right? No.. unfortunately the only thing that satisfied my tastebuds partially was the zucchini fries. Which is surprising because that was too greasy for me. We ordered a chips to share platter, vegetarian burger and superpower bowl. The chips.. were hella greasy - the potato chips tastes stale but had a decent flavour and the sweet potato chips were just sad (soggy, greasy and lack any seasoning) The burger, my mother did not feel well after eating it. The patty was described to taste like mush and after trying it myself it tasted like a soggy mess. (To be fair, we both agreed she shouldn't have selected the low carb bun - but thats no excuse tbh, the bun shouldn't be overpowering the entire burgers flavour! But it did!) The salad... it was alright, tasted like any generic salad you could probably make at home. The chicken was dry and burnt, which was disappointing. Today I had a cockroach run up my leg while I was half way through eating my lunch in a booth. A few minutes later l also found a hair in my chips. My group of friends all decided we would stop eating as we had lost our appetites. We brought this to the attention of the staff and we were questioned about the "apparent cockroach" ... we had to find it and show them it was still under our seat before they believed us. We were then offered $5.70 back for my chips. We said we didn't want any of the food and had to pretty much beg for a refund. We spent over $90 in store and got $40 back. Manager didn't even come out at the end to apologise, but got his staff to handle it (the young lady serving us was nice, it wasn't her fault) however the experience overall was appalling and we were made to feel guilty rather than feel like valued customers. I will not be back and neither will my friends. Zero stars rather than one...

OMG never thought I'd find a burger place that can rival Carl Jnrs but today I did! Today I tried it for the first time & not only am I impressed, but this'll become my local favourite Burger place. I tried their chilli lovers burger with a small side order of sweet potato fries with chipolte mayo & a bottle of water. Well its 1000% better than Pickled Duck across the road. Not only is it way more tastier, but its value for money too. I'll definitely go there again & I highly recommend it. Oh I nearly forgot to say that the chilli lovers burger will satisfy a chilli lover, I'm a huge chilli lover. The staff are very helpful, friendly & courteous a credit to the business owner. Well I popped in again on the 28/3/21 to try their hot chicken bites & a different burger.
