Kintaro Sushi is undeniably one of the best sushi establishments, not just for its quality of food but also for its dedication to creating an authentic and enjoyable dining experience. Whether youâre a sushi connoisseur or a first-time diner, Kintaro Sushi stands out as a place where culinary excellence meets tradition. Hereâs why Kintaro Sushi is the best:
At the heart of any great sushi is the freshness of its ingredients, and Kintaro Sushi never compromises on this. The restaurant sources the finest fish, often from local suppliers, ensuring that each piece is as fresh as possible. From the tender slices of tuna to the delicate pieces of salmon, every ingredient is handpicked for its quality. This focus on fresh seafood makes a significant difference in the taste and texture of the sushi. The fish used at Kintaro Sushi is buttery, flavorful, and perfectly balanced with the rice, offering a melt-in-your-mouth experience.
A sushi restaurant is only as good as its chefs, and Kintaro Sushi is home to some of the best in the business. The chefs at Kintaro have honed their skills over many years, mastering the art of sushi-making. Their expertise in selecting the best fish, preparing it properly, and pairing it with the perfect amount of vinegared rice is unmatched. Watching the chefs work behind the sushi bar is an experience in itself. They approach sushi making with a precision and passion that are evident in the final product. The attention to detail is remarkableâwhether itâs the way the fish is sliced or the exact ratio of rice to fish, Kintaro Sushi chefs execute their craft with absolute perfection.
One of the standout features of Kintaro Sushi is the variety it offers. While the restaurant respects traditional sushi techniques, it also embraces creativity and innovation. The menu is a well-balanced mix of classic sushi options, such as nigiri, sashimi, and rolls, and more inventive dishes that push the boundaries of sushi. For example, the chefâs special rolls combine unique ingredients, such as seared toro, spicy tuna, and fresh wasabi, creating flavor profiles that are unexpected yet delightful. Whether you prefer something familiar or are looking to try something new, Kintaroâs menu has something for everyone.
The ambiance of a restaurant plays a huge role in the overall dining experience, and Kintaro Sushi excels in this area as well. The atmosphere is cozy, warm, and welcoming. The design incorporates elements of traditional Japanese aesthetics with modern touches, creating a comfortable and relaxing environment. Whether youâre dining with friends, family, or on a special date night, the setting at Kintaro Sushi is ideal for enjoying a meal. The intimate atmosphere allows guests to enjoy their food without distractions, and the staff is always friendly and attentive, making sure that your experience is pleasant from start to finish.
Speaking of the staff, the service at Kintaro Sushi is always exceptional. From the moment you walk through the door, youâre greeted with a warm welcome. The waitstaff is knowledgeable about the menu and is always happy to offer recommendations based on your preferences. They make the dining experience more enjoyable by being attentive without being overbearing. The chefs, often interacting with customers at the sushi bar, are eager to share their expertise and talk about the intricacies of the dishes they prepare. This level of customer service enhances the overall experience, making you feel like more than just a customerâyou feel like a valued guest.
In addition to offering top-tier sushi, Kintaro Sushi also takes its environmental responsibility seriously. The restaurant is committed to sourcing fish that are caught sustainably,...
Read moreOrdered kids menu as usual, a waitress started to bring me individual plates of food instead of special kids train/car plate. so I said did you change your system? Then she brought me empty train plate so again I asked is this a new system? Her answer was the special kids train plate is too small to put everything. I said usually everything fit in there. (If doesnât fit thatâs restaurantâs problem) Anyway she said she will do kids menu price(cheaper than all individual plates because smaller serves) for me even they were individual plates so let other floor staff know when I ask the bill. (Well I thought she meant this but turned out she didnât mean that?) And she came to me a few times and showed me kids menu and said âitâs 1 pc karaage. Not the whole plateâ I answered âI knowâ Well you are the one who brought the whole plate!! Was I supposed to take just 1 pc from the plate and returned? Then I asked the bill to her. She tried to charge me individual plates⌠So I said you said you will do kids menu price. She said âI already gave you a discount and You had 4 karaage itâs supposed to be just 1.â I couldnât believe⌠Manager said I can just pay for the kids menu price. And she didnât realise she charge me kids drink separately even itâs included kids menu until I said. She never said sorry once. I donât think she understands she has to order kids menu to chef?! Also the TABLE, CHAIRS and FLOOR were NOT CLEAN. Still rice, fish eggs on the table and chars, many dropped food under the table. I stepped on avocado⌠They need to clean more after each customers. Hot tea...

EDIT 9/05/23: They have now added online ordering which makes the place a little more bearable, we only come here due to the convenience of the location and the cheese chicken which almost always comes out cold and with soggy chicken nowadays despite asking for fresh food. There is one male staff member who actually understands the customer service, with the large majority of the staff finding it an extreme inconvenience to serve a customer. I once asked for table water and got pointed towards the waters instead. If this was McDonalds prices it'd be fair enough but you hardly get anywhere near the service you deserve for the prices you pay.
I used to really enjoy Kintaro at Modbury. This place is awful now the workers don't even come up to you to serve you. The tables aren't even cleaned when they seat you on one. When you let them know by putting your hand up for service, they don't even acknowledge you unless you go out of your way to get served. They'd rather sit at the back and gossip rather and actually serve customers. 50% the time the food ordered isn't fresh and is cold and bland in flavour. 99% of the food on the train is cold as well and not very appetising as it looks they have been sitting out for ages. The employees here need to learn some customer service skills, I'm definitely not the only person experiencing this as I'm seeing many other reviews with the same issues and I watched a group of people get their order cancelled after having to wait ages because "the chef...
