Hanson Road Pizza Bar review.
Turn turn turn down Thirteenth Street no no no keep going and meander to the left down down down Athol Street no no no mate … mind how ya go … turn off way before then just just just before Hamilton Road on Hanson Road …
I’m low carb and enjoy the Robbie Salad and the Robbie English Breakfast tea hotwater and milk … and water … and more hotwater and milk … and water … and the Frank’s Special Small Thin and Crispy Robbie Pizza made by that famous Egyptian Nile-skipping pyramidous Cleopatran foundation stone: Hani and the cool and hugely diligent artisan and artistic pizza crew … Plus the Barramundi and Scallopini Piscatore with potatoes and veg …
Jalapeño-poppers and chicken-strips and wings and Mac cheesy bites and mozza sticks …
And as for the ‘turn-left and don’t miss it’ staff they are very very great …
especially the superlatively beautiful Amira and wonderful Christiana and smiling Zoe and zippy Zara and the legend Krish and gorgeous Parmi and decent Joban and caring Elizabeth and Nancy and Kitara and Shanti and Prabh and the friendly aforementioned Hani and pulchritudinous Nhu Nhu and cool Tamara and the legendarium that is … Milo … and all the amazingly talented chefs and cleaners and delivery folk … and Anya …
Yes yes yes a bloke called Robbie is brimful of wonderment at and with everyone’s cool and sparkly kindhearted and tenderhearted and warmhearted service and demeanour … a balladeer is blown away by all these delightful people each and every day of the week from 11 am till 5 am 365 days a year (366 in a gourmand’s felicitous leap)
impressed continually by all these cool types in every way and on every day of his life …. continuously and joyously and very very very much indeed
Legends all is all there is left to say … cheers and love Robbie a NP 25 poet and Hanson fan and ‘something that is very special and dear to my heart’ devotee

You are 2 ladies on a train (1 lady) 2 ladies that don’t know much know a lot whispering about this and that about disabled crossings and recognition about an Indigenous family altercation - about African history - about colonialism and genocide - telling me ... THEY did it too ... telling me that slavery has always ... been around -
2 old ladies saying stupid things on a train - 2 tennis champs batting back a shuttlecock - beating a dead fly on Plymouth Rock ...
They were a team of happy and smiling basketballers young Ethiopian lads on their way to get a pizza laughing rapping riffing dropping the N word in their anecdotes about African-Americans ...
I gave them directions ... how to get to Hanson Road Pizza Bar - to Monika - to Nhu Nhu - and the memory of girls like Mitta ... and Mistr ...
on my way to the Vietnamese ...
we chatted about colonialism in Africa and the use (by them) of the N word its perceived ‘reclamation’ - its tortuous-torturous history - its deeply offensive meaning to African-Americans ... African-Africans ... and a handful of others ... we chatted about their ancestors ... standing-up-to and beating the Italians ...
they laughed about that one ...
they pointed out a smiling friend point guard and countryman ... asked me: ‘Where’s that ‘bruh’ from?’ ‘that brother there? ... he’s from Ethiopia mate ... fair dinkum Gondar royalty’
I gave them directions to get to Monika and got off the bus at stop...
Read moreBeen a regular here for over a year now, but we just had a really bad experience today that left us so disappointed. My partner and I always loved the food and the service here so after a really long day we decided to have a late night dinner here. We ordered the gourmet seafood and gourmet chicken pizzas. We chose the seafood because it had only prawns and that's the only seafood we eat. But the pizza came out with oysters, sardines and anchovies. We eat none of these. At all. We spoke to the lady that took our order and she said that my partner ordered a seafood special and not the gourmet seafood. My partner was more than sure he ordered the gourmet seafood but she completely denied and didn't take any responsibility for this. For two people who cannot even stand the smell of these specific types of seafood, they literally told us that they can't do anything. Me and my partner were so disappointed and upset and kept starring at the pizza not knowing what to do. We were so hungry but we had to put that pizza on the side and share the other pizza which was just 9". It can't fill two hungry people. Later she came back to us and said she's happy to get us a new pizza of our choice for half price. Why would we pay more to get the same order that we wanted in the first place? What would we do with the pizza that was wrong but we paid? There was another issue in that pizza which was later resolved. (The chicken looked like mushrooms and I happen to be allergic to muchrooms). The server even offered us a remake of the second pizza but I trusted her word that it was chicken and not mushroom so I was content. She was supportive in this matter. I lost my appetite after a few bites of the other pizza. So did my partner. We couldn't eat anymore than 2 slices so we took it home and left the wrong pizza untouched on the table. The staff didn't even care to replace it with the right order. The other waitress always serve us when we dine here so she knows that we are regulars and we have NEVER complained about the food because it's always good and we are satisfied and happy. But this one time that the new waitress messed up our order, and we literally couldn't eat it because of fair reasons, no one cared to fix it for us.
We left the restaurant upset and disgusted and our stomachs half full, still hungry.
To be honest, we're so disappointed. We had to pay for something that we didn't have nor enjoy as we both were so upset about the wrong order. I have uploaded a picture of the wrong pizza here. Does it even look like something that 2 people who do not eat oysters, sardines and anchovies can look at?
This is a place that we really love to come for dinner almost every month, but unfortunately this time we...
Read moreI recently had a deeply disappointing experience with this restaurant that raises significant concerns about their allergen information practices and customer service. The issue began when I ordered a "supreme pizza with the lot" through their website. Notably, no ingredients list or allergy information was provided on the site. Upon receiving the pizza at home, we discovered it contained shellfish and anchovies. This was particularly alarming as my partner has a shellfish allergy, making it a potentially dangerous situation.
In an attempt to address this problem, I called the store to inform them about the lack of allergen information. It's important to note that I wasn't seeking a refund or replacement, merely trying to bring this serious oversight to their attention. However, the response I received from the manager was utterly unsatisfactory. Their comments included statements like "The lot always has shellfish" and "Every other pizza place does this," which is incorrect as many restaurants do list allergen information. The manager even suggested, "You should have known this would have seafood and left a note on the order," which I found particularly dismissive.
This interaction highlighted several key concerns. First and foremost is the lack of allergen information, which is a serious safety issue that needs to be addressed immediately. Secondly, the poor customer service, exemplified by the manager's dismissive attitude and unwillingness to take responsibility, is unacceptable. Lastly, the manager's incorrect claims about industry practices regarding allergen information are both false and misleading.
After researching other reviews, it appears this dismissive attitude towards customer concerns is a pattern at this establishment. Given the potential health risks and poor customer service, I cannot in good conscience recommend this restaurant. I strongly urge the management to take immediate steps to rectify these issues. This should include updating their website with complete ingredient and allergen information, training staff on the importance of food allergy awareness, and improving their approach to addressing customer concerns.
Until these critical issues are addressed, I would advise potential customers, especially those with food allergies, to consider other dining options. The combination of inadequate allergen information and dismissive customer service creates an unnecessarily risky...
