last night me and a couple of my friends visited Harry's Bar for my girlfriends birthday. The overall atmosphere resembled the classic Australian bar, footy on the tele, a couch to rest your legs after a long day at work and the sound of chitter chatter from happy customers. I would have liked for a waiter to come and take out orders instead of us asking for the menu and ordering our food at the bar, not too much of an issue but the menu was also quite confusing to navigate. I had ordered a $19 chicken schnitzel with $7 Aussie toppings that included chips and a salad. The schnitzel was quite well cooked but the toppings came at a disappointment, the barbecue sauce was quite overpowering and the toppings weren't well spread over the food, in preference I quite liked egg as it came evenly cooked towards everyone's preferences in conclusion. The night went on and went on and we enjoyed ourselves I believe that a little more improvement could go a long way for Harry's bar I just don't think that $26 is a worthy price for what...

Great for after work drinks or social clubs. Good service and balcony has a great view. Staff are personable, polite, friendly and do a great job even under busy periods.

-4 stars for service. Unfortunately last visit was soured by a barmaid whose accusing tone was unjustified and misinformed, but apparently acting on the owners instruction(?). While it was very busy and mistakes made, it was obvious she had the wrong person. The behavior was witnessed by the whole table, who were just as perplexed as no explanation was given. While our event was due to finish, there's no need for this behaviour and it soured the experience and venues reputation. I would question suitability of this venue for future events, without some...

Fantastic place to go to..i cant talk about the food as we were at a private function on the 1st floor..but the nibbles which came round were unbelievable. .really nice...the bar staff and the waiting girls were great...only fault i found (and nothing can be done about this ) is...my wife is in a wheelchair. .there is a lift to the next floor but to get into the building on the ground floor, she had to get out of the wheelchair and physically walk up 7 or 8 steps to get onto the ground floor...very difficult for her...plus once on the 1st floor, if she needed to go to the toilet..she had to walk down about 20 odd steps...that was the only complaint...luckily she didnt need to go....but highly recommend...

Do you appreciate Australias historical architecture of the late 1800s? Do you like to look at mounted pictures and photos and interior decor that tells the story of the history of the pub? Harrys Bar is upstairs in The Tattersall Hotel and one you could easily miss as the en trance isn't obvious. But if you look up from the street (Grenfell St in the city) you'll notice a deep balcony at 2nd floor level. Drop in and enjoy a beautiful South Aussie Red (Hedonist was nice) or a nice cold beer. Watch the races or football. Enjoy the coolness of the south facing building if hot outside. Friendly staff. I wouldn't say its outstanding but its an interesting little piece of Adelaide's s pub history.

This place is otherwise good and deserves 5 stars but the server Angus is very rude and racist! I come here regularly and all other tenders are very polite and offer good customer service. However, not once but on multiple occasions, staff Angus has been extremely rude and specifically to me acts like he is doing me a favour by serving me. The management should take a notice of him discriminating. Other staff members have witnessed his rudeness so it should be easy to verify what I have stated.

Very friendly staff and the meals and drinks are always great. I love the happy hour prices . Great range of beverages available. They always have specials on during the week. We went on Wednesday and all meals are $20 plus an extra four dollars for a drink. I had the Scotch Fillet steak cooked medium rare with pepper sauce and it was cooked lovely. They have a nice outdoor seating area on the balcony upstairs and a great indoor area. Also have a ground bar which is nice and relaxing.
