We recently dined at Hiro Unlimited Japanese Restaurant for $40 per person, and it was such a satisfying experience! The buffet area offers ready-to-grab items like maki rolls, fried rice, and miso soup—perfect for quick bites while waiting on the main orders. One of the standout features? Their matcha ice cream maker—absolutely the best we've tried! My husband booked a table for 5 adults and 1 child in the Japanese-style seating. When we arrived, our table wasn’t ready yet, but the staff quickly adapted and prepared one for us as soon as another group left. Great recovery on their part! Three of us added the unlimited drinks option. There was a bit of a wait between refills, maybe due to crowd control or pacing, but nothing too frustrating. Food is ordered via QR code and arrives at your table as it's ready. Since a few of us were ordering at the same time, it was a little tricky figuring out whose dish was whose—but we just shared everything! The quality of the food was amazing—warm dishes were served hot, and cold ones at the perfect chill. Service was excellent throughout. Staff were quick to deliver food, clear the table, and even gave us a heads-up when we only had 10 minutes left to place our final orders. Overall: Great value, delicious food, smooth service, and that matcha ice cream alone is worth coming back for.

Today I checked out this buffet restaurant 19/02, this one is a real deal! They've got everything, from sushi to hot food like takoyaki, curry don and karage chicken, a longlist. But what really stole the show for us were the skewers—pork and prawns bursting with authentic flavors. And the miso soup is a total comfort in a bowl. They also offer matcha soft serve ice cream that you can indulge in as much as you want. And if you're in the mood for a drink, they've got a selection of alcoholic options too. (To which we all want 😋) For staff—they were so helpful, friendly and always wears a smile, especially the Japanese-looking guy who served us today. He is well versed in english and made sure we knew how to use the QR code to order, he sure knows the menu as he knows what to recommend. As for the setup, you've got two choices: traditional tables and chairs or the Japanese-style seating where you sit on the floor. Both options are clean and tidy, adding to the overall experience. It’s gives off an authentic experience of Japanese restaurant, plus the Japanese staff. You’ll really feel like you flee thousands of miles away and was sitting at somewhere in Osaka. Overall, if you're craving a taste of Japan in Adelaide, this place is a must-visit!

Went here with a group of friends and had a great time. Despite how small the restaurant is, it still has a cosy and traditional feel. As a Jr I paid $30 for all you can eat for an 1 1/2 hours. That kind of price is unmatched especially in the heart of Adelaide. But what truly set my experience apart was the service. The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and helpful. They went above and beyond to ensure I had a pleasant and enjoyable dining experience. They even told us about a promotion where groups over 5 can have 1 person's bill paid free of charge, they had no obligation to tell us and could've gotten more money had they chose not to. It had a great deal of variety despite the kitchen being small, and the self service area could fulfill all your needs while waiting for orders to come in. An issue we did run into though was that some orders didn't seem to come (which was solved by ordering more). For the price, the value here is simply unbeatable. You get a wide variety of delicious food, excellent service, and a fun and inviting atmosphere. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great Japanese all you can eat experience.

had to wait in the hot foyer for about 15-20min before we could be seated despite having a reservation at 7:30. The miso soup was good but the pot was empty for the rest of the night so we only had one small bowl to share between two people. The food was average overall and there were long waits between items. Most of the hot food items came out cold, and it seemed like the skewers and takoyaki had been made in advance. The udon curry was super salty and we couldn’t eat it due to the flavour. :( We were waiting for the last 3 items to arrive when the wait staff came to tell us the kitchen was closing in 10min! The apologised about the missing items and brought them out promptly. These last few items were hot and we assume they were freshly made, and tasted nicer than the cold ones served earlier. The self-serve buffet was poorly stocked the entire time, and options that are shown in pictures online were unavailable. The water station was not restocked often, despite the food being salty and weather over 30 degrees. Also, there was a 15% public holiday surcharge even though today wasn’t a public holiday.. I’m not sure if this was a normal Sunday surcharge but it was listed as public holiday on our bill. This probably should have been communicated when booking online or upon arrival. We came here really excited to try a new place and left feeling a bit disappointed. I couldn’t really recommend this venue and don’t think I would come back :( Best part was the ice cream machine, matcha mousse dessert and...

The first time we visited without a reservation, we were not seated. On our most recent visit last night, we booked a table for two. When we requested to change to another available table that was not reserved, the staff declined.

After being seated, we were informed that there was an option for "All you can eat" or ordering from the menu; we chose to order specific items from the menu. The dishes served were not hot. I felt sick in the stomach instantly after eating the below we ordered besidesthe drinks:

1)The salmon skewer was acceptable. 2)The prawn gyoza was topped with sweet chili sauce. 3)The chicken karaage pieces were cooked inconsistently. 4)Teriyaki Chicken served cold and stale chicken 5)Wagyu Beef Yakiniku served cold

Regarding the main courses (as shown in the attached picture), both the Teriyaki Chicken and the Wagyu Beef Yakiniku were served cold, and the chicken did not seem fresh.

When we informed the restaurant staff, they said they would check with the kitchen, but no further action was taken as we paid at the counter. No adjustments or reductions were offered.

There is a sign indicating a $10 charge per person for leftovers with the "All you can eat" option. During our experience, we found it difficult to finish the food we ordered from the limited menu.

We found the customer service lacking and rude and do not...
