Food (3.5/5) We ordered a variety of dishes including crab fried rice, prawn curry, chicken cashew nut, vegan fried rice, and steamed rice. The prawns were a highlight—fresh and generously sized. The crab fried rice was flavorful, while the chicken dish fell slightly short due to the batter being soggy and the chicken a bit chewy. However, the taste overall was still enjoyable. Portion sizes were average and suited for sharing.
Service (4/5) The restaurant was quite busy during our visit, but the service was attentive and efficient. Staff were polite, and the food was served hot and without much delay. Overall, the team managed the crowd well and ensured we were looked after.
Ambience (4/5) Lantern by Nu has a rustic, laid-back charm. The interior design gives off a warm and relaxed vibe, which was complemented by the use of heaters on a chilly winter night. This made the space feel inviting and cosy, adding to the overall dining experience.
Value for Money (3/5) While the food was decent and the setting comfortable, the pricing felt a bit on the higher side. Given the portion sizes, food quality, and the casual nature of the restaurant, the value proposition could have been stronger.
Overall Experience (3.6/5) It was a pleasant dining experience marked by good service and a cosy atmosphere. While some dishes stood out more than others and the prices were slightly steep, it was still an enjoyable evening suitable for a family...
Read moreWe had a meal at this restaurant, which claims that 98% of its food is gluten-free. My wife has celiac disease, so we ordered carefully — including the roti, which immediately raised red flags since roti is never normally gluten-free. Despite the menu listing it as gluten-free, we asked the waiter to double-check after it had already been brought to our table. They came back and admitted the roti was not gluten-free. This is absolutely unacceptable for a restaurant that promotes itself as celiac-friendly. Serving something clearly mislabeled, especially to someone with a serious medical condition, is incredibly dangerous. When we raised our concerns, the staff were dismissive, visibly irritated, and made us feel like we were the problem. No one took accountability, and we were still charged full price for the entire meal — including the mislabeled dish. To make matters worse, the manager casually mentioned that their soy sauce contains gluten, another ingredient not clearly marked on the "gluten-free" menu. They brushed off the roti issue as a "printing error," yet made no effort to remove the menus or correct the listing, even after it was brought to their attention. This is more than just a mistake — it’s reckless. For anyone with celiac disease or serious gluten intolerance, I strongly recommend avoiding this place. Absolutely disgraceful behaviour from a restaurant claiming to be...
Read moreJust booked a table in advance for 4 people (2 adults + 2 kids)we were welcomed by the front staff & seated.atmosphere was ok.we ordered some kids meal, padthai, mixed seafood & coconut ice cream ,bottle of house wine & some juices. Food served quickly.Fried rice & Pad Thai was good, barely found seafood in the seafood dish which was $42, (Found 2 prawns,5 tiny pieces of barramundi, some octopus tentacles & some calamari strips 80% green beans & bokchoy)taste is fine though. House wine was $44 per bottle which was below average in quality, really young wine with very strong flavours. Coconut ice cream got about more than 60% desiccated coconut & really tasteless & the young coconut seemed freezer burnt & old. No one care about the food served, girl who served wine was ok. a person(I assumed he is a cook) came to other table & got the feed back from others but ours.(Bcos we don’t look like Ausi,🙂 but paid the same price mentioned in the menu) Anyway being in the industry for a long time & working as a chef I feel that they could have done something better than this.I suggest staff really need more training on customer care, (“Never judge a book by it’s cover) All customers are very important Anyway,Thankz team...
