Overhyped. I will give this business the benefit of the doubt that it may have been a bad night, but based on this experience, I donât think Iâll be returning as Iâm not gonna put my time and money into something that doesnât deliver.
I waited AT LEAST 20 minutes for the nutella(?) soufflĂ© pancakes themselves after being told the pandan one was sold out, which realistically, I donât mind waiting for good things. However, mine came out what I can only assume is undercooked, the inside looked like someone had thrown up eggs onto my plate and it tasted like a bowl of half cooked eggs. A soufflĂ© pancake should be light and fluffy, so this was extremely off putting and I left pretty much 90% of the pancakes on the plate. The issue isnât the wait time itself, itâs that youâd expect something actually cooked for the price and time. The inside of the pancake looked like poorly scrambled eggsđ€ą
As mentioned, Iâm not sure if it was maybe just a bad night but I donât understand how you as a popular dessert bar, are happy to put that on a plate and serve it to your customers.
Iâd like to now add, we made contact with Kaya and a resolution was not found. You did offer a refund or an on house visit and failed to follow through with either/both after we replied and said we were happy to give you a second chance and that our review would be redacted provided we were not disappointed a second time. We then reached out to you a second time to follow up to allow you the opportunity to correct your error given we assumed you were busy and yet you failed to do so. Creating an awful business image for yourself which shows what kind of business you really are, a money hungry one with no care for...
Read moreWorst experience ever! Absurd and insensible policy.
I just visited this dessert place with a group of friends (6 of us), and we were absolutely shocked by the treatment we received. We ordered 3 desserts to share, but were rudely informed that their âpolicyâ demands a minimum of one dessert per person. This is the most insensible and ridiculous rule Iâve ever encountered. It wasnât even a busy night, there was plenty of seating availableâyet this unreasonable policy was enforced on us for no logical reason.
Instead of appreciating the business we were giving them and letting us enjoy our evening, we were practically told to either order more or leave. This kind of behavior is not just rude, itâs completely counterproductive for a business. Why would anyone want to return to a place where theyâre treated so poorly? Theyâre clearly more focused on squeezing money from customers than offering a welcoming experience. Itâs not only disappointing but also a terrible way to lose loyal customers.
Also whatâs more frustrating is that the poor staff clearly werenât convinced themselves with this policy and were having a hard time explaining it to us. The owner is to blame here for enforcing such an absurd policy even on quiet weekdays.
If youâre looking for a place that values customer service and doesnât treat you like a walking wallet, do yourself a favor and avoid this place. We certainly wonât be visiting again, and Iâll make sure to tell others about this...
Read moreMy friend and I visited Kaya Desserts tonight. We both got the Souffle Pancakes. I ordered the nutella. My friend attempted to order the pandan pancakes but they said they were out and it would take a few hours to get it again. Not sure how that works but sure? She ended up also ordering the nutella. Furthermore, i Ordered the milo dinosaur (cold) and my friend ordered the classic matcha latte (cold).
The matcha was tastless. The milo was watered down and had a weird aftertaste.
My pancakes came first and then we waited 20+ minutes for my friends pancakes to come out. The wait time for my pancakes was not half as much as the wait time for hers. I waited for my friends pancakes to come out before I started eating mine, and the wait time is reflected by how much the ice cream melted (picture attached).
The Nutella topping did not taste like nutella, barely even tasted the chocolate to be honest.
My pancakes were cooked properly, but tasted eggy. Meanwhile, my friends pancakes were NOT cooked properly. They literally looked like scrambled eggs (photo attached).
The wait time isnât the issue, but youâd expect it to be cooked properly.
We paid nearly $40 each, and the price was not reflected in the quality of the food.
This is unacceptable, especially for such a hyped...
