The first thing you notice about Latteria is the beautiful atmosphere this space creates. The combination of the low, soft lighting, open space and stylish decor creates a relaxed environment to enjoy a wonderful meal. The staff were lovely from the moment we stepped in the door and the service was impeccable throughout the night.
The evening began with some cocktails, all of which were delicious. The Blossom Sour and the Zombie were favourites. As a group of six, the starters we chose were the Eggplant Crackers, Lobster Buns, Octopus Skewers (devoured before I could photograph) and Beef Tartare. All were delicious, but my personal favourites were the octopus (beautifully tender) and the tartare (expertly prepared, and accompanied by the perfect ingredients. Not pictured because the photo I took did not do it justice!). The entrees we chose were the Summer Salad, Tuna Crudo and Squid (not pictured) which were, again, all delicious dishes. But the real stars of the show arrived with the main courses of the Pappardelle and the Beef Sirloin. The pasta was so delicious we ordered a second serving and the sirloin was cooked to perfection, accompanied by the most delicious sauce. Both were to die for! We finished the night with some desserts that I didn’t get pics of, but the favourite was the Pink Pav, a pavlova with Chantilly cream and strawberries. The Tiramisu Lamington and Iced Vovo Sorbetto were also both excellent.
Overall, a wonderful experience and I highly recommend this place. The owner also up for a good chat, and clearly loves his craft!! Definitely would love...
Read moreMade a booking for 9:30 Saturday 23/08/2025 for my mates birthday a week ago, for 10 people. We arrive there for the booking but apparently it was 9:45. The security is at no fault of anything great person took care of us until the power trip egotistical owner (small man, bleached hair, stuble heavy Italian accent )came out.
The security allocated us to wait outside on the tables he showed us to and said he’d ask a server to get us some drinks while we wait for the table which we meant to had at 9:30pm. As we are waiting outside the so called owner comes out and starts confronting our group saying the following “what are yous doing here” in a loud tone enough to turn other patrons heads. Embarrassing for him and mostly for us. I reply with the details of our booking only for him to snob and say something under his breath. That was the last we saw of him. Following this we were “denied entry due to dress code not being met.”
There was no signage saying anything about dress code or the right to management refusing entry. Half of us had jeans other pants, dressed for a birthday. The interesting thing was a majority of the customers inside were wearing the same jeans. Having my friends credit card the owner refused to not only come out to tell us himself “we weren’t up to dress code,” but refused to give the card back.
Your owner needs to fix his attitude and how he speaks to his customers, this is not an isolated event. Fix your so called manager or “owner”, disgusting behaviour. Strongly suggest you choose somewhere else to go on a Saturday night with a...
Read moreI sent the following review to Latteria but did not receive the courtesy of a reply, so have decided to upload it. We booked a table at Latteria on the basis of one positive review, to enjoy a good meal and to have a discussion on an important topic. Unfortunately, we did not achieve either of those objectives. The food was very disappointing. The fritto misto, which is all or nearly all seafood at Luigi's and elsewhere, was about 75% vegetables and only 25% seafood (mostly whitebait). Both the fritto and the cotoletta were so heavily salted as to be nearly unpalatable. The "golden potatoes" were clearly reheated, although these were taken off the bill when we pointed this out. The service was friendly with pleasant young people, but very disorganised, possibly because of understaffing on the night. Any attempt to talk was made essentially impossible by the booming "doof doof" music which was quite inappropriate to a supposedly upmarket venue (and worlds away from the advertised "timeless charm of 1950's 'Latterie Milanesi'"!): the tables adjoining us made the same comment. However, the layout was pleasing, and the service, while chaotic, was friendly. We left the restaurant without finishing our food, and had our conversation at a more salubrious venue. In summary, 3/10 for the food, 2/10 for the excessively-noisy environment, 4/10 for the service, and...
