My partner and I had an absolutely wonderful experience dining at the home of Gökçe and Enver last night (22 March 2025). Unfortunately Enver could not be there but their lovely friend Ebru assisted instead. The hosts were so welcoming from the very beginning, making you feel comfortable in the gorgeously decorated front dining room. In total there were only 6 people dining which made for an intimate and personal experience.
The food was sublime! Gökçe is a home cook, but she cooks with love and flavour, and that is evident in every dish presented. She explained each dish as they came out, some from different parts of Türkiye and others traditional from Ottoman times. With the appetizers, having the smooth and cooling tarator straight after the spicier and flavourful acılı ezme was perfect. The Adana kebab was a surprise extra entree dish and honestly one of the best kebab we have ever eaten. I almost think this should replace one of the other dishes (although not sure which one!). The homemade mantı was beautiful; it's one of my favourite Turkish dishes (although seldom found because it is truly a labour of love) and it did not disappoint. The main was scrumptious, the beef slow-cooked to perfection and honestly my tastebuds were bursting. We only wish we could have eaten more, but we were feeling rather full at this point! To finish we had a Muhallebili kadayıf, a creamy custard with crunchy shredded fillo pastry and fresh strawberries, served with Turkish çay and coffee. Lovely way to end.
It was so wonderful meeting Gökçe and Ebru (and we regret we could not meet Enver but we shall have to return) and I personally enjoyed sharing our favourite Turkish music, talking about Turkish soap dramas and culture, and practicing the little Turkish I know 😊 Ellerinize sağlık (health to your hands) and çok teşekkürler (thank you very much) for a...
Read moreThe concept is new and very refreshing ! I loved the atmosphere and decor! The room is steeped in history and culture and Gokce and Enver are delightful people; very nice and warm! We had exactly the same food as previous reviewers; going by their photos ( minus stuffed vine leaves). Im gathering the hosts must stick and cook the same menu for every booking?? I unfortunately did not enjoy some of the dishes specifically the main; chucks of bland-less meat on top of flavourless pureed eggplant! This was served with cut up buttered pasta with feta and walnut (very very simple dish and it was bland). I honestly did not get the main combination of meat and pasta..it seemed a very odd pairing! There was no salt & pepper on the table to add! The dessert was thoughtless; the custard was bland and tasteless and it was pretty disappointing! The tea was ok but I’ve had better! At times the service was lacking and wine/champagne glasses were empty! But if you're looking for something new, refreshing and different, the hosts are lovely and I recommend you try Mini Lokanta but I’m pretty sure , @ 130$ (quite an expensive experience) probably will...

The food was absolutely delicious and felt incredibly authentic—around eight beautifully spaced-out courses that left us feeling satisfied but never overwhelmed. The pacing was perfect, allowing us to truly appreciate each dish without that heavy, overstuffed feeling.
The hosts are warm, welcoming, and eager to perfect their craft, making the experience even more special. Mini Lokanta truely felt like the kind of place where you can completely unwind and just enjoy the moment. If you love great food, meaningful conversations, and a cozy, home-style atmosphere.
