I'm simply perplexed at the experience I've just had just had visiting this awful place. I strongly recommend you go elsewhere, unless your tastes run to yesterdays microwaved slop. Truely a dreadful, shameful experience. If the food served to us is what this restaurant believes represent their skills and best efforts, they are very much in the wrong game. Everything was inedible, warmed over muck. How staff can serve this with a straight face is beyond me. Honestly, words fail me. How can this happen in 2021? With a simple and delicious cuisine like Mexican? What passes for chorizo are hard grey lumps of unidentfied origin, but "made here on the premises and cooked fresh today" I'm assured after I enquired. If this is true, then it represents a culiary crime, and ought be punishable in some way. It bears no resemblance to the fine spanish pork sausage, redolent with paprika and spices. Perhaps I'm wrong, and there is a branch of sausage making I've missed during the last sixty years of eating, where flavouless grey sludge is prized as a great result, but somehow I doubt it. This unfortunate place is run-down, with poor toilets and sticky tables and zero atmoshere and Z-grade food. It's just unacceptable when competition is so stiff and great dining experiences are accessible everywhere. I recommend closing the doors and perhaps pulling down the building. No town deserves this, and no-one's hard-earned money should be supporting this misfortune. I have a dim memory of when Montezumas first opoened 40 years ago in Melbourne street, Nth Adel, but the folks that ran that wonderful place would be turning in their graves if they were served what we were served. Stay away. Better to go hungry. You simply DO NOT DESERVE an...

I hope this message/review finds you well. I recently dined at your establishment at Glenelg and I wanted to share some feedback about my experience, specifically regarding your famous Mexican plate “Montezuma” I ordered.
First and foremost, I would like to commend your inattentive staff service and their lack of interest in providing good customer service, as this can create a terrible atmosphere in the restaurant. At least try to play some music to
Now in regard to the food, I regret to inform you that the Mexican plate “Montezuma” I ordered did not meet my expectations whatsoever, and I’m Mexican 🇲🇽 so I really know what I’m talking about. While I was completely and utterly aware of the fact that this wasn’t going to be like the food in Mexico, I was expecting at least something decent, but it wasn’t even close. I found the dish lacking in several areas. The flavors were somewhat muted, and the ingredients did not seem as fresh as I had hoped. Additionally, the presentation of the dish could have been more appealing, especially the black olives. They looked completely off, please get rid of them.
I understand that every restaurant can have an off day, and I hope my feedback can be taken constructively. I believe that with some adjustments, your culinary offerings can truly shine and provide a more satisfying experience for diners.
Thank you for taking the time to read my feedback. I look forward to seeing how your menu evolves and hope to have a more enjoyable experience on my next visit.
Best regards,

Read moreIf I could give a zero this would be my rating. The food was awful. A taco smaller than the palm of my hand filled with beef and topped with little more than pureed tomato skin and a miniscule (20c) sized amount of grated cheese which looked more like dessicated coconut than cheese. The chilli con carne was watery with beans like soup. Barely any mince to speak of present. Everything came out looking brown. My understanding of Mexican food is full of colours, corn, capsicum, tomatoes, avocado, lettuce, cheese... My partners plate was filled with brown oily rice, a frajita filled with beef and topped with cheese.. nothing else! The menu on the other hand, was false advertising! Margarita glasses on display, $12 each, but when we ordered two were served up plastic blue tumblers instead with straws that were double the length of the glasses. We looked like children drinking from picnic plastic. The menu boasts colourful platters filled with food that looks so appetising.. very disappointed for someone who has always heard how good the restaurant is. My partner took me there because I said I had always wanted to go. How awful the food was. I will never go back. What a waste of $80! The service wasn't anything to write home about either. We had a booking but when we arrived were told they were busy and we would have to wait for a table to be cleared. Seriously cannot understand what all the hype is about! I make better...
