Dinner at @pastel__wine__bar from a few weeks ago: absolutely delicious food, nice cocktails, and friendly service. Great for sharing! . Chargrilled octopus skewer - taramasalata, salsa verde: so yummy and full of flavour! Party in your mouth 🙂🙂. . Beef tartare toast, smoked mussel, capers, dijon, pecorino: this was easily shared by cutting it in half, and I wish I didn't have to share because it was so good 😅😅. . Whipped ricotta - honey, thyme, za'atar, walnuts, grilled focaccia: not too rich, nice and simple. Delicious with the grilled focaccia! . Raw yellowfin tuna, blood orange, kumquat, salted chilli, parsley oil: really loved the citrusy flavours in this dish - super refreshing! . Fried eggplant, black vinegar, garlic, peanuts, chilli: nice bold flavours. Can't go wrong if you like eggplant. . Rigatoni alla vodka, kimchi, gochujang, nori, parmigano: always love a good dish with fusion flavours! The kimchi and gochujang are not too overpowering, and made it super yummy 🤤🤤. . Crispy viet chicken fish sauce caramel, lime, peanuts (half): very tender and juicy chicken! . Steak au poivre 350g dry aged sirloin, 5 peppercorn mix, served pink, with chips: perfectly done steak. Can't go wrong 🙂🙂. . Side dishes: - Crunchy potatoes, rosemary salt - Smashed cucumber, sichuan chilli oil, wood car mushroom, soy peanuts, ginger . Roasted hazelnut semifreddo, coffee cinnamon fig, hazelnut praline: I love anything with figs, and this was no exception. There's a subtle coffee flavour and not too overpowering. The semifreddo was yummy 😋😋. . Black sticky rice, coconut ice cream, brulee banana, toasted coconut: this was the more preferred dessert for all of us! Not too sweet and perfectly balanced flavours. Really good 😊😊.

I visited here a few nights ago for the live Jazz night with one of my girlfriends for what we thought would be an amazing meal. After seeing so many fantastic reviews, we booked in for dinner. For our starters we ordered the Warm Olives, which were over priced, the Whipped Ricotta which we couldn’t find a fault, and the Tuna Sashimi which was doused in a habanero sauce. It covered the fact that it wasn’t a great cut of tuna which was disappointing. However, for the cheap price, we should’ve expected as such. Shortly after finishing our starters, we were approached by a waitress who asked if we could move from our table to another one to accomodate a larger party. It was rather upsetting that we were so blatantly targeted for our young age which repeatedly happens at restaurants with a higher dining price. No other parties—as far as we were aware—were asked to move. We politely declined and felt like a hindrance for the remainder of the evening. Moving onto mains, we had the Sri Lankan Chana Dal which was delightful and the 250g Rangers Valley Wagyu. The Wagyu was cooked to an ‘okay’ standard and the sauce that accompanied it was a confusion combination. The Wagyu would’ve been better served with a more complimentary sauce. For dessert we shared the mousse which was the best meal of our evening. Unfortunately, we will not be returning. Such a disappointment as the Jazz music was incredible and the reviews painted a perfect experience which we did not share.

We came here because we had heard good things and saw the overwhelmingly positive reviews but man were we disappointed! The atmosphere is lovely, it’s cosy and intimate and on a weeknight it’s quiet enough for the service to be attentive. The prawn katsu sliders were probably the best item we tried — a nice combo of fried and fresh elements. The baked alla vodka was brought out and spoken so highly of by the staff but the kimchi, gochujang and fusion elements didn’t shine through at all and made for a disappointing version of a typically lovely dish. The harissa chicken was lukewarm, sandwiched between a cold baba ganoush and heaping pile of cold pickled capsicum. The serving temp was confused at best, unfortunate at worst, really preventing the chewy cut of chicken thigh from having any redeeming qualities. After all this, we were excited for our banana cake with miso butterscotch — but it lacked the umami of the miso boasted on the menu and was instead salty and boring. Everything here seems poorly thrown together, attempting to be interesting but uninspiring in its execution. The service might have made up for it, but the guy serving us looked pretty unimpressed the entire time. Go elsewhere, there’s better places to go to dinner in Adelaide.

Hi, my name is Francesca I came down to visit with my mum. We are booked in reservation at 6:30 for two people rocked up got seated and noticed the customer service was very rude. He took the wineglass without even asking me just ashamed that I am under 18, and then I had to show my ID to prove that I’m 18. We noticed that the menu is very small and we ordered two octopus skewers for the small snack and to kingfish sashes for the main and coconut braised beef. Another serving of octopus skewers we had grey, goose, lemon lime, bitter. For dessert Whipped choc cream, and another dish which was hazelnut, semi Freddo. For dessert And a drink with Montenegro orange an ice with a side of lemonade. Overall, the service was horrible. I was judged because I didn’t 18 The gentleman was trying to service alcohol that once, and even the same brand was the name of sweet, very bitter when we suggested some alcohol is the lady just pulled a face and said no we don’t have that when you do have it. They didn’t come and clean up our table when the drinks spilled. The vibe is very hipster like/upper-class. The mills were tiny. Everyone judges you I love the skewers love, the kingfish, too, spicy the Beef. The lady came straight over and bring out how check which didn’t give us enough time to see how old going to do. The payment range which is very rude. Was in an out. No hey, it’s is not a settled down and have some time now in and out thing a rush hour. Wasn’t happy with our service at the Royal wasn’t happy with anything won’t be recommending and coming...

Pastel wine bar are ticks across my books. My husband and I visited this restaurant for a date and our expectations were certainly met.

The atmosphere of the restaurant was amazing. Low dimmed lights, music that wasn’t too loud that you can’t hear each other talk, and beautiful lay out of the dining itself. One thing I would note in improvement would be the chairs, they weren’t the most comfortable, but that is me being very picky.

All the staff were extremely lovely and very welcoming, there is not one negative thing I could say about the staff.

Now the food was some of the best food I have had in a really long time. For starters we had the focaccia with green tahini, shatta egg and crispy chickpeas. Oh my, it was lovely the flavour complimented each so well, it was a little bit spicy, perfectly acidic and had the amazing crunch element with the chickpeas.

For our mains we ordered the rice cake carbonara as well as the wagyu beef pappardelle.

The carbonara was beautiful, the rice cakes weren’t over cooked so they didn’t turn into mush when you ate them and the sauce complimented them great. They give you a smaller serve because it is quite filling and can become fairly over powering.

The pappardelle was once again amazing. The flavours worked so well together, beef was tender that it just fell apart in your mouth and the fresh pasta was like silk, couldn’t recommend this dish more!

Overall please visit this restaurant, from the atmosphere to the staff and the food it was for me;...
