After enjoying the Red and White one for years it recently closed down, I decided to come here to try the rival AB, and wow was I thoroughly and utterly dissapointed.
Worst AB I have ever had. I've had quite a few.
When I walked in I could see meat sitting on the hotplate, I ordered 2 combo AB's. It cost $42. Ok? It better be at least as good as the Red then.
They were busy so it took almost 25 minutes and that entire time that meat was just sitting there on the hotplate burning, I could see the flame from where I was sitting and it was on high. That meat sat there the entire time we waited, untouched until it was time to serve up our AB's.
First thing I notice is the portion size, I was not pleased. For context the Red one had about another half a portion for the same price. The amount of meat was ok, but there was bugger all chips. 21$ for what I got was kind of a rip off, It wouldnt be bad if the AB was good though.
But it wasn't.
Obviously the meat was tough, chewy, burnt and overcooked. Who knows how long it had been sitting there on that hotplate before we walked in. The quality of the meat itself was quite bad too, being grissly and fatty.
The chips were also overcooked and way too crunchy I could tell the oil needed changing also.
The sauce was meh, the garlic sauce did have a slight green tinge for some reason.
I wont be coming back here again, it was actually disgustingly bad and very incompetant service by the staff, overpriced garbage.
Im really going to miss getting an AB from the...

Disclaimer before we start: The AB was born here in Adelaide and no one can tell us otherwise; and it's this location where it came from.
Now that this is out of the way; The Blue and White cafe serves some absolutely delicious meat cooked to perfection. Whilst they have plenty of options, people come here for 1 thing and that's their yiros/AB meats. Expect to pay for the quality, but it's priced this way for a reason
Pair this with staff that know how to work the grill and you have a winning combo
The question becomes the return value of this place, particularly given the cost I think this is a place that everyone should try, and depending on how blown away you are you should consider coming again For me, it's great and a nice treat here and there
Nonetheless;...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I were visiting Adelaide and we made the mistake of stopping by for a meal at this kebab shop.
We were charged $47 for two kebabs on a plate and two drinks! To make matters worse, the amount of meat that was put on our plate was very little and the rest was lettuce! Oh, we had to pay extra $3 for 2 slices of Greek bread which should have come with the kebabs anyway.
We go out and eat exactly the same thing at our kebab shop in Mt Hawthorn in Perth and we only pay $10.50 for each kebab and we get a lot more food. This experience has led us to conclude that the meat in Adelaide is REALLY expensive or these people are simply...
