WARNING PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TIME I went there for dinner tonight for the ALL YOU CAN EAT Tuesday special. It was the most disappointing and terrible experience I have had. I arrived at 6:30PM for the booking I made while I waited for my friends who arrived 10 minutes later. As we are mostly big eaters, we ordered 2 serves of scallop nigiris each during out first order. The waiter noted that down, but then the old manager lady wearing brown (who was standing nearby) whispered to him to tell us that they ran out of scallops. At 6:40PM they apparently had no scallops left, obviously it was a lie as I would watch them serve other tables scallops later on. From that point I had my doubts about the how the rest of the dining experience would go if you could even call it that. The first order came, I noticed the slices of fish were already quite thin compared other sushi restaurants but I was still trying my best to ignore the fact. After the second order came out I had lost my appetite, the rice was undercooked as it was slightly hard in the middle. We were also told they have ran out of "SALMON" at 7:20PM. It was truly a blessing in disguise as the fish slices were even thinner this time. So thin in-fact that it was breaking apart and see through. The waiters and waitresses were fine but old lady manager really knows how to ruin a dinner night out with friends. The best part was, after she told us they had "ran out" of scallop and salmon they were serving a sashimi platter (that had scallop and salmon) to another table. Just before serving it the old lady manager took her phone out to take a photo of it, I would assume to post about how good it looked. Meanwhile we were served something as despicable as this.

Probably the best modern Japanese restaurant in Adelaide.* Toilets are clean and spacious, a disabled access toilet suits on the ground floor with their men's and women's on the 2nd. Decor is modern, large lamp like lights hang over the main centre table. A lot of natural wood decorates the restaurant. Sushi Planet has a bar setting which overlooks an open kitchen. Food is incredible. Sushi Planet have quite a few modern/unique options in addition to your more traditional style Japanese cuisine. The only thing slowing me from coming here more often as a uni student is the cost. Roughly 20-30 per head for food, drinks to be added on top (unless you enjoy not paying for drinks and smash table water). One of the only complaints I can think of is the fact they use Spotify free for their BGM. Free Spotify means ads every couple of songs which can be heard by the whole restaurant. With the exception of the free Spotify BGM (+ the two kids in highchairs screaming behind me), this restaurant experience has been quite the pleasant one. Would recommend for couples, families, even groups for up to about 10 I think are suitable (there is a large pole in the middle of the main table which can seat 20). *I say "probably" because I have not been to too many others.

One of the few restaurants that impressed me! Great food and atmosphere and excellent customer service. We ordered okonomiyaki (scallops filling), soft shell crab roll, beef teriyaki don and karrage chicken udon in dashi broth. The dashi broth was a burst of umami and pickled quail eggs were surprisingly pleasant touch. The okonomiyaki was perfect- crisp exterior with a soft creamy interior and the bonito flakes added an extra layer of umami and crunch. The teriyaki don came with starters of miso soup and seaweed salad. The food was great, no doubt, but it's the excellent customer service that will bring me back. I had questions about the meat source and they pleasantly complied and even went the extra step to provide me with the details of the supplier.

Sushi was great, service 0 stars. Wait time for food nothing less than 30min. I'm from Sydney therefore comparing to the restaurants here it wasn't busy. We ordered some items etc however we never got the cocktais, skewers or scallops. Food arrived after 30min between 15-2pmin gap between each sushi serve which means you really get hungry in between. We checked about missing items after an hour, the waiter was very nice and he apologised stating they forgot which we asked him to cancel it as we need to leave to be honest he was a very nice person and definitely not his fault. As half of our food didn't come I asked for 2pcs sushi (1 serve), after 10min I had enough waiting and was still hungry and wanted to go eat somewhere else so we just walked to pay, the waiter said as it's been 10min we can't cancel and we get to charge and he asked the kitchen when would it be ready, they didn't give him a time or an answer. So i said I'm paying and just want to leave because of the lack of professionalism and unacceptable services. So they made me pay for 1 serve of sushi that i never received and didn't even waive it considering their poor service at the beginning.

The place was recommended to us by our business partners as we only travel to Adelaide when we have a job there. If you don’t mind waiting 2 hours for 1 serve for sushi then this place for you otherwise definitely do not recommend this place as it's a waste of time. Food is...

The place is poorly cleaned and unhygienic. I am overall disgusted.

I sat down at the bar and ordered. I noticed immediately, the bar was sticky and covered in spots and stains. Accompanying this, was a disgusting damp smell that emanated from the table and the kitchen in front of me. There was one stand out among the waitstaff, who, unlike the rest was attentive, well presented, and efficient. Fifteen minutes after ordering my meal, the tea I ordered arrived after having been forgotten, and like the bar, the teapot was coated in sticky spots, even on the lid.

The cup that came with it was clean on the outside but was covered in dust on its inside wall. Naturally, I did not partake of any, given is filthy state. The single positive, were the rolls of sushi I ordered as an appetizer, which tasted quite good. The main, which was a bowl of teriyaki don (Teriyaki chicken rice bowl) tasted little different to sakura sushi’s and I suspect, employed the same cheap sauce. The chicken was not of restaurant quality. Within the kitchen the staff moved slowly and without enthusiasm and were singularly oblivious to their lowly standards of cleanliness and efficiency.

I cannot in good conscience therefore, recommend this to anyone and suggest ANY other...
