KC's Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Airlie Beach

They make us wait 50 min for the food , and it wasn’t ready at the time we left the place. But I’ll tell you the story. We arrived at the restaurant without a booking, they’re nice and gave us a table. The waitress took the order …after 25 min … no food yet …another waitress come and offer another drink. Then I call the waitress and ask about our order , she told me that by a mistaken they gave to other people . ( I don’t understand this ) unless the client was blind , or worst the waitress) in a restaurant like this there is a chain to delivery the food ! ? Right ? So what happen ?? Then comes the girl that was on charge that night . She apologized and said that our order wil be ready soon !! They gave us a sprite , that we didn’t ordered. And after 20 min … no food yet on our table … meanwhile I saw the waitress and also the manager , talking to the cheff , attending all the tables , a lot of food going out … we decided to go . Then she came (the lady who says was on charge ) she apologized again , and promised us that our food will be ready in 2 min … sorry but hard to believe . If we wait already 45 min … funny thing at the moment we arrived 6:00 the place was almost empty. Cause always is full of people . The line is huge of people waiting . So I don’t understand this type is mystake !! 50 min waiting for food … not even in a restaurant with a star asked for a lobster. …. She also offered the food for take away … but like i said … (there’s no point ) Cause she went to the table , ask for wait a little bit , then after 25 min . We’re tourists , wait almost one hour and you offer the food to take away ?? If a tourist go for a restaurant is cause they want to sit on the table and eat out, if we want to take a way .. Delicious pub style food. Enjoyed what we ordered. Large serving sizes for the price. However, there was a mistake with our booking. Called up a few days ago and booked a table for two. Turned up and no booking existed. So the lady I spoke to had clearly forgot to write my booking down. The female worker at the entrance was a bit unhelpful and made us feel as though we stuffed up, not them…she didn’t own the mistake or problem solve anything. She walked away (leaving us a bit confused) and a kind gentleman walked over and quickly rectified the situation in 10secs. Lucky…because we were about to walk away hungry to eat elsewhere. Thus why I had to give 4 stars. Other than that, the food came out fast and we didn’t stick around for dessert because we could see they were busy and people were lining up to get a table. My advice for improving your service would be to allow online bookings. This will prevent mistakes...
