Admittedly I haven't been to every cafe in Alice, but after eating here one day I didn't bother going anywhere else the next day for breakfast. Interesting menu options, beautifully presented and delicious. The coffee was great and the decor is fascinating. There's red rock tiles lining the walls and the ceiling forms an inset zig zag pattern with decking boards that leads you like an inverted walkway into the main area. The service is friendly and quick. Another great breakfast in the Northern Territory. If it's a hot day (and, let's face it, this is pretty much guaranteed) then I recommend you park underground in Kmart and buy a pair of socks on your way back through to legitimise your use of their parking.

Has been quite disappointing with my visits in the past 12 months. Its been abit too cold at times and the music is unnecessarily loud. As a couple we spend roughly $70 for breakfast and 1 drink and well over $100 on dinner and definitely not worth it. If there was just as much effort and care put into the cooking as they do on the presentation would make a huge difference. As you will see in the pics over uploaded it all looks great, unfortunately doesn't match up with the quality and price. Non alcoholic drinks over priced for small 250ml glasses everything is served in.

Great place, great service, reasonable prices. I've had the french toast, pancakes, and eggs and toast and can recommend all. I've had the Reuben as well, but would not recommend. I also learned that shake here means more of a flavored milk than a frozen dessert, so not my style either. The outside seating is nice, especially if early enough that you're not in the sunshine. They have high chairs and are great about kids.

Went to the Locals with family to try the new resturant. Nice new setting. Good customer service on entry. Clean and presentable resturant.

We ordered our coffees and food. I tried to order sparkling water or bottled water and was told they dont have that only water over there on the table. I then sat back down to wait

We had our coffees and hot choclate delivered. I tasted the coffee and it was extremly bitter and tasted yuk.The kids said the hot chocolate tasted awesome. We got sugar and put in a sugar in both coffees to try sweeten it up to be able to drink it. Still way to bitter and left the coffee. When our food came out we explained to the waitress we are done with the coffees. She asked are you sure. I said yes they are extremly bitter and un drinkable. She said sorry.

When the food came out. It was a good size serve and good quality of food.

PROS: *The open air resturant inside makes very loud to sit and relax and talk with your company. *All staff but I assume the managers 1 male and 1 female were extremly well presented in full uniform all thrle same. Excellent to see this again as lacks in allot of businesses.

CONS: No sparkling water No bottled water No cracked pepper

OVERALL We do like to support local businesses allot but our overall we did not enjoy this visit of the new resturant especially with bad coffee. We may try again but wont rush back in...

I just want to say that I have been here before and really enjoyed their service and food. But today was different, and unfortunately my family and I will never be back again. I ordered the Crumbed Haloumi, and while the haloumi was delicious, the pesto sauce that covered the plate was absolutely horrible. It tasted off and I almost vomited when I put some in my mouth, forcing me to spit it out everywhere. I went up and told the staff, who were very polite, but when they approached the chef he looked angry and said he’d made it this morning so it was fine. The staff came back to me and said “maybe you just didn’t like the taste?” I said that I always have pesto and love it, but this tasted absolutely foul. I asked if I could have a refund for just my meal as I wasn’t able to eat most of it, just the haloumi and eggs, and they said no. Really frustrating. Never returning here. Felt like I wasn’t heard or looked after. I’ve worked in hospitality a long time and if a customer complains that something tastes off I always take it seriously and would offer a refund...

My family and I recently had breakfast at The Locals in Alice Springs, and it was an excellent experience. I had the Salmon and Beetroot Benny, my wife had the corn fritters, and the kids enjoyed the hotcakes.

The Benedict was delicious, served on brioche toast. It was filling and super tasty, with a beautiful presentation. The corn fritters were generous in size and fresh in flavor. The kids' hotcakes were massive and had a delightful flavor, especially with the crispiness. Impressively, the kids finished all of them.

The coffee was served quickly and was of outstanding quality. We even grabbed some to go, which were served at a perfect "travel hot" temperature. The coffee prices were reasonable and did not disappoint.

Overall, I'd say The Locals is worth a visit. It's a great place for a very filling breakfast, with nice staff who were helpful and always...
