So my fiancé and I wanted to go for a date night with our 2 year old daughter tonight and we chose Ballina Indian.
Upon our arrival we were sat down at a table and we were handed menu’s. We decided what we wanted to eat within minutes and waited patiently for another 20 minutes for us to not even be acknowledged that we seated in their premises. I decided to politely walk up to the service counter ask if we could be served at our table as we were thirsty and needed a drink (at the very least).
We had then a lady come and ask for our order which we politely dictated to her. Within 15 minutes we were handed our drinks with a blunt smile. 45 minutes later our table was like the Sahara desert. Still no entrees and no kids meal. A rushed plate of nuggets and half cooked chips arrived at our table and our daughter finished them within minutes. Another 10 minutes had passed and my fiancé and I decided that we wanted to receive our meals as takeaway. They said “your food is coming, no worries sir” which I insisted we needed to leave. We paid for our food, got throw a plastic bag of takeaway 5 minutes later and told “we are busy, so so so sorry” and left without a confrontation after 1 and a half hours of waiting.
If you want a quick, authentic meal from a Ballina restaurant please choose elsewhere, we will be avoiding this place in the future and wanted to share our experience.
Gunna try the food tomorrow and call it a night. Thanks Google for the opportunity for a honest...
Read moreHaving spent the afternoon in the library, studying and doing a little bit of research and investigation, I lunched with salad, tuna fish and camembert cheese, the other part of my meal was instant noodles, but unfortunately the hotwater cistern was on the blink, poor ladies who staff the library couldn't even have a cuppa! So upon closing time, I wandered up the road to this Indian eatery. I greeted the only male I could see, he promptly ignored me and another unseen staff member came to the storefront, I held the instant noodles up, mimed the kettle pouring and asked if he'd be willing to help. He simply stood staring, so I repeated the request slowly, at which point another staff member arrived and I moved back to allow him into his workplace while smiling and saying hello. Again another simple thing like a greeting being unacknowledged and met with a blank uncaring stare. So I repeated the greeting loudly, imbuing it with joviality, another blank uncaring stare. What's wrong with these people?!? I'm currently working on finding out if it's a requirement for hospitality venues to be hospitable. Hello there Owner, my visit and subsequent request was at approximately 16:07...
Read moreSo we were on our way to Tweed heads and decided to have dinner at this restaurant. To save time, we called from highway and an English speaking lady picked up the phone. Due to poor quality of signal we weren't sure if she got the order right (even though she repeated the order details). But fear not, she absolutely got it right. Kudos to the young lady, first for accepting our order from road and secondly to get it completely right. We were so relieved that there were no surprises waiting for us. Please convey our thanks to her again. Food, extremely tasty and good size servings. We ordered 3 curries for 2 adults & 2 kids. Food was so yummy that we all over ate. And even then we had leftovers for another complete meal. Got it packed for lunch next day. Fair to say full bang for our bucks. My wife reckons that they have a punjabi chef and I don't doubt her. Hats off to them. Also the songs selection in the restaurant was great. All in all we had a great time and we will definitely stop by whenever we are...
